I'm looking to cross the streams of time and space by hooking up my RetroN 77's HDMI output to the old faithful yellow, red, and white of CRTs, so does anyone recommend any HDMI to RCA converter(s) that you know to be lag-free and of generally good quality? Thanks!

Consider the DAC (Digital to Analog Convertor) by Analogue. I've never used it personally, but the build quality of all their stuff is first rate. It doesn't come cheap at $80, but you get what you pay for.

Only works with Analogue's products as it transfer data over the HDMI cable, which the console needs firmware to do.  So it won't work as a plug and play DAC for any other device.

Whoops. This totally slipped my mind. You're absolutely right.

So I actually have no recommendations.
