RH | 5,260
Anyone else here or see this today? The source was posted to github 12 hours ago. So when do we get a Checkquest mod built on this thing? https://github.com/RandalLinden/DOOM-FX/tree/master/source
RH | 5,260
I posted this last night for discussion... since that was 16 hours ago, I'm going to bump it before I ignore it. Certainly some homebrewer around here is interested in it/wants to discuss what this means? Edited July 15, 2020 by RH
Deadeye | 1,601 Homebrew Team ·
I do wonder what will come from it. If people will study it for homebrewing themselves, others will use the engine to make SFX games, or maybe someone will make an improved version of SNES Doom. All of those sound great to me. Hopefully it is more than porting SNES Doom to a water cooler or something.
LaC | 104
Is there any documentation he released about how doom was created from the original source? Just thumbing through it really feels like this was rewritten from scratch.

Looks like it references loading binaries from files/folders, and they aren't in the source. Maybe this is just straight-code but none of the assets?
