It's this and other kinds of similar choices that set the tone of a forum. Allow the questions, and you risk annoying long time members, but you have a lot of new members coming in and a more active community. Don't allow the questions, and you have a more loyal base of hardcore posters, but much less new blood. It's up to the mods the kind of community they want to make.

I personally don't see an issue with new topics being shown the link to an existing thread. It makes for efficient storage and reference of information. But, it's important to keep the new topic with point link, as it help people find the actual thread.

That being said, there is a nice way it should be done. From what I recall an NA, this was done in a nice way also.

  2. Hey all, if anyone is interested in importing j Japanese games, check out Amazon Japan. I was in Japan recently and when I checked online prices, Amazon JP was the same as Japanese physical store prices.

If anyone knows of better online retailers, please let me know.

  3. I had no issue with the old forum overall. However, the non mobile friendly layout was slightly frustrating, but understandable given it was custom created in a pre-mobile world.

One huge benefit of the GC NA purchasing Saga was the simulateneous closing of all sister sites. This has now unified all collectors and content across multiple sites onto one forum now (vgs). While I'm a nintendo collector, I do like reading about other consoles, and it's great having everyone in the one place.

NA had a reputation for having a high ban rate of members, and it was a little unsettling reading old posts and seeing the "banned" logo on people frequently. I'm not sure why this was the case. Other than occasional posts, I never interacted with the community, so wasnt sure if it was due to shady characters, or overzealous moderators or strict site rules (no disrespect to any NA mods who came across).

Overall, vgs is certainly much better, keep up the great work team!

I will wait for the kids and wife to go to bed, pour myself some Glenlivet whiskey, find the Metal Storm soundtrack on Youtube, and ever so gently pop the seal on that box.

    Giggity.

Glenlivet is one of my favourite whiskies. Managed to get an 18 and 21 year old bottles years ago and thoroughly enjoyed them. Long gone now unfortunately.

On the bright side, going to Japan tomorrow, I have researched a few good whiskies to get.

Thanks for the link. Not quite what I was looking for as it lists all Japanese games with English language options, so can't identify exclusives.

However, I found this link for exclusives only

Come to think of it, weren't we tracking jp exclusives in this thread?!

    Hello there fella.
I also take the ol’ public transport. I have lots of handhelds to play. Usually the Vita or PSP. But in honor of Halloween I’ve been playing Castlevania Adventures on the Gameboy. Lots of weird looks on the bus right now😂

What are you playing on the Switch? I find the thing too big to play on the go.

Before the switch I had a vita for a couple of years. Although I prefer Nintendo, I couldnt hack the 3ds poor screen res so i got the vita instead. The vita is a great console and enjoyed some great games. My only complaint was a limited selection of games, including AAA titles.

I have no issue with the switch screen size, but was happy with the vita also. Bigger is better right?!

  7. Hi all,

Just recently came across the recent events at NA and decided to make the jump.

Given the news that future of NA is in doubt, I'm very thankful the community have put together a new site, with heaps of members coming across, avoiding fragmentation.

I was on NA for the last 4 years. I never contributed much, sitting at 168 posts during this time, but visited the site almost daily. My user name hasn't changed.

My video game collecting started when I went to Japan for the first time four years ago. Got into famicom and then eventually sold out and moved into general Nintendo collecting, but kept nes and snes. Im really into switch and play daily as I catch public transport to work.

Anyways, catch you on the forums.
