Really thankful this video came to light, which has saved from from HA dealings. I was a little suspicious of HA sale prices and thankfully never bought into their false hype.
A couple of years back, I was looking at buying an original Garfield comic for the nostalgia. The creator of Garfield, Jim Davis, was selling off his original work when it was being hand drawn, from the 70s to 2000s. He had recently stopped selling it on his website and instead move to heritage auctions.
These comic strips were selling for $1000 to $2000. To put this is in perspective, you can buy an original marvel comic cover artwork drawing usually in the $1500 to $7000 range, some for much more. Non-covers for less. Marvel and DC comic are in the mainstream, courtesy of Big Bang Theory and the Hollywood movie being pumped up. But Garfield comics?
According to the article below the average Garfield artwork was estimated to be worth $500, and even that would be an exaggeration in my opinion... unless I'm underestimating the Garfield love out there!
https://news.justcollecting.com/jim-davis-original-garfield-artwork-archive-heritage-auctions/
Ps. I haven't looked at prices recently on HA, so maybe early sales went for more due to initial demand. HA have a price history section, but I can't be bothered making an account to verify my suspicions.

Thanks for sharing.
During this corona virus period, some people stocked up on hand sanitizer, others toilet paper, but you made the wise choice and stock piled samurai nes - smart choice!

This Lego nes console is awesome. However, I would never buy it because if I wanted to display a nes console I would display the real thing, not a Lego model. Especially when display space is limited.

I bought the Japanese version while in Japan last year. It has English subtitles. Can't recall if the voice is changeable to English. I haven't had a chance to play it properly yet. Could be an alternative to the Asia version.

But one of the best covers of all time for racing games has to be Burnout Paradise.
That burnout paradise cover is great. Very cool artistic flair to it!

Hi all,
What are some of your favourite racing/car video game box art, poster, promotional merchandise or anything of the like?
My research so far:
1. The getaway pinball game backglass (translite)
2. Super hq 2 Sega genesis box art cover (Japan)
3. Daytona usa Sega saturn (usa)4. NES rad racer box art (nostalgia)
I need some cool pieces for my upcoming garage project.
Thanks

I'm in the minority here, but xenoblade chronicles on switch is so highly rated. I played through the whole game and found it quite boring in terms of game play, especially the combat system. The graphics and music are great though and the game has a charm and it, but this won't compensate for average game play.
Not sure if most are bewildered by the graphical animation of the female characters, given their generous.... assets?

When this was discussed on NA a long time back, someone had posted the link to a famous comic book collection and the story behind. I can't recall its name. Can someone please post it in this thread. Thanks.

I think a database is a great idea. However, we should concentrate on one console only at a time. Get it well established, before moving onto the next. Makes the task less daunting for everyone.

Hi All,
I noticed today that the general collectors forum has exceed 10k posts - awesome achievement.
This got me thinking of the old and now defunct NA site, so I went over to check it out. ust the usual stuff, the infrequent post followed a recommendation to join vgs.
So, I decided to check out their blog to see if they're actually made any announcements and came across a message for the Game Value Now beta release.

Thoughts?

Ever since covid lockdown, Ive been selling stuff on ebay that's been sitting there for a while now.
Working from home, Ive been saving a lot of money. For those that still have a job, this means a lot more disposable income to spend. While some will be holding it as saving, eventually, people splash out a little.
Given the above, I think it will be a slight short term increase of video game prices.

How did you come across this console?

Death squared on switch is very rare, Australian and USA copy. They want for AUS$500 initially. There's a couple of copiess sitting at AUS$400, but there's been a random one sitting at AUS$200 for a while, but no one has bought it.

When I was collecting famicom, I wanted one of those cases so badly but could never find one at the price I wanted. After a quick check just now, seems like they keep going up in price!

Thanks for that. After a quick google, supposedly the arcade name is a tribute to the 1983 movie Wargames, that has an arcade named "20 grand palace".
And, the arcade is still in operation today but known as Grinkers Grand Palace:

Curious, why wouldn't you search for old photos of real locations? If I had the $$$, I'd love to make a man cave look like an old arcade from my childhood.
That's definitely another option.

Galeria Arcade - T2: Judgement Day
Thanks for bringing this one up. Is Galleria the name of the shopping mall or the arcade? IRL, one of the shipping malls they used in T2 had galleria in the name.

Hi all,
I was recently searching arcade amusement centres as potential future man cave inspiration, including a feature display sign.
Just wondering if anyone knows the names of fictional arcade amusement centres from movies and tv shows? There's resources on the internet about arcade games in movies, but none about the names of the fictional arcade amusement centers they were within.
Please state the arcade amusement name and the movie / tv show and I'll compile a list.
Thanks!---------------------------------------------

No offense to the guy but if I won something last thing I would be doing is asking for more. No matter the item, but to ask for something questionably illegal is just wow.
Smokes aren't cheap.

Smokes are ridiculously expensive in Australia, hence why he asked to sneak in a pack.
If he gets caught, he won't get in trouble. He will have to pay tax on them.

Just to confirm, are you saying there a US Physical release, with Cart, of Namco Archives Vol 1 and 2? If so, I wasnt able to find one online, after a quick google only.
Yes, I can add that DLC isn't compatible with overseas Carts.
