I’ve had thoughts about some of this stuff. Like companies bragging about being “human made.” Or movies needing to specify the script was written by a human.
I was an RN and I despised it so I went to a coding boot camp. I did this about 1 year or so before the release of ChatGPT. But thinking about it, I probably wouldn’t have made the career pivot I did if ChatGPT was already released. I definitely would have put more thought into something like a trade or skill for a new career.
Maybe I am more pessimistic, but I see the future as being bleak. The disparity between the rich and poor will only get worse…human sacrifice, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria.

for those with kids still grade school/high school, how do you feel about AI? like, is AI influencing what career path you want your kids to get into? are you thinking about what jobs are going to AI proof for the longest time?
i don't have kids, but it definitely seems like this could be very stressful as parents.

how would VGA qualify this as being unused, though?

I found something really rare that I don't think anyone cares about, but I don't know where else to post it except
SegaAge 2the Sega CD thread. A JVC service manual for Electronic Book Decoder, which has to be one of the rarest piece of console software ever because this is the only thing my saved search ever hit. It came from a stereo dealer who had a bunch of old JVC manuals.Quick album of the contents: https://imgur.com/a/qK6LxXb
nothing gets my juices flowing more than seeing somebody post something in this thread. you da man.

I like Brett Weiss' books. I guess he kinda irked off Pat Contri at one point
based off what pat said about him on his podcast, I have on my kind Brett has the writing ability of a 3rd grader . I’m sure that is not the case, but pat really tore into him.

Someone tell me something interesting they found. You can only search for individual games right?
NWC Gray: 2 (Seems really low?)
NWC Gold: 1 (Also seems too low? I've seen multiple maybe they were regraded)
Stadium Events: 8
Steel Battalion Big Box: 2
Elemental Gearbolt Assassin's Case: 1
BOTW Master Edition: 65
Doom PC: 0 (1 listed as v1.666 which means it must be opened afaik)
Chase the Chuck Wagon: 0
GTA: San Andreas PS2: ~450 (Anything more common than this?)You’ll can search by system, but overall I feel like the search functionality is shit. Plus, all the WATA lovers surely sent their VGAs to be regraded by WATA, so who knows what is accurate.
How the heck is a disc based game qualified?

Ironically, they sent an email today saying that Population Reports now available (who would have thought?) But everytime I check for something it keeps spinning and I haven't had much luck.
it works for me.

Kato Kaelin was a trip to watch. He was like a proto-Paul Bro.
I like when the limo driver was about to testify, and just after he took the oath and sat down, you could hear him mutter "Jesus Christ!" under his breath.
The whole kato kaelin situation is crazy. He befriends Nicole, moves in with her, and out of jealousy OJ befriends Kato and has him move out of Nicole’s house and in with him. Kato becomes buddy-buddy with a millionaire celebrity just because OJ doesn’t like his ex wife having a male friend.
with that said, it appears Kato drastically changed his story from what he initially stated to when he gave his testimony.

the whole oj simpson trial really fascinates me. there are literally hours and hours and hours of the trial's testimonies on youtube. there is a multipart podcast covering the the whole story and related characters. i love reading about the theories. there are videos dissecting his reactions, responses, etc. it's a rabbit hole i've spent many hours down.

I like it a lot. It's not hard but it's super charming. Probably better than Gunstar Heroes. 8/10.
How much bath salts did you take this AM to come to this conclusion? Better than Gunstar Heroes?!?! What?!?

1.) do the opposite of what the average r/gamecollecting regular does.

Ther e a ton of factors that go into a max bid for a high dollar item.
There is only 1: emotion.
When a potential buyer watches an item for a week, feelings begin to form. Maybe every couple hours or, at the very least, every day Buyer checks in on Game; makes sure Game is still there and it’s doing okay; makes sure Game isn’t getting too much attention. With each day, the relationship becomes stronger. unfortunately Game doesn’t give back the same love and affection to Buyer. But Buyer doesn’t care. Buyer likes this abuse. Buyer will do what it takes to own and hold game when all said and done.
it would be interesting to see what impacts longer auctions have on ending prices compared to shorter auctions. I’m just being silly with what I said above, but I would speculate that longer auctions do help to emotionally invest buyers than shorter auctions.

@Crabmaster2000 beat every nes game. But I don’t think he 100% every game like you are aiming to do. But I’m sure he might have some tips.

I like Zool, good time beating it on the Master System, I still remember, in 2010.
I did like the fact you had to collect a number of items per level to move on. Made it feel like collecting the “coins” had purpose.
i didn’t know it was in the MS. Will have to check out game play of it.

Zool
Bad game. Not no escape bad, but bad. It’s a platformer where your character is always in the center of the screen, so you never know what the heck is below you.

I'm definitely not a master at any shooter because I don't play for score. Ikaruga especially I think people like because of how straightforward it is. The polar bullet curtains and enemies appearing in obvious groups of 3 for chains usually make it clear where the best, or at least a good, place to be on the screen at any given time is. The chain system is really forgiving too, since there's no timeout if you miss an enemy.
Part of what drew me to Ikaruga at the time (besides how generally popular it was on Gamecube) was how approachable it was compared to some Cave shooters of the era where I looked at gameplay and my immediate reaction was "This is impossible, how can a human play this?". I distinctly remember thinking F-Zero GX was harder than Ikaruga. At least Ikargua lets you make small mistakes
I have not played either because both games intimidate me. But it sounds like beating them isn’t a thang? Just maxing the score is where shit gets real?

I kinda feel like, from what’s been sold on HA, this price isn’t crazy at all. I mean, it’s a 1st production Castlevania. What were people expecting?

My favorites that I've played the most: Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, Espgaluda, Donpachi, Touhou 8: Imperishable Night.
I’ve heard that ikarugs takes like a lifetime to master and radiant silver gun is no slouch either.
Out of curiosity, did you take the time to master and beat these?

zero tolerance
ya know, i find these primitive, shitty-ass FPS games to be charming. but the game is like 40 levels long so it kinda wore itself out. but i kinda dig it.
-
It’s all fun and games playing the good titles…but wait until you get to the depths of hell and have to suffer through the likes of Ikari warriors, miracle piano, 50 hour RPGs, and the koei titles to name a few. This is when your true gaming character will emerge.
