I am near Montclair.  Livingston and Jersey City are not far from me.

What made you you move to Florida?

Got married and then the wife wanted to have kids closer to her family. The funny part is the move to Florida basically kick-started my collecting since I didn't have any friends down here.

Welcome! Any experience with the old 6502 machine language?

I've dabbled in some NES programming and I did some of it for my college thesis when I made a GBA game demo. Don't have much desire to do more of it though.

20 years? Wow, how many games do you own now? Full set? Close to? Are you after CIB or not?

Finished the loose Licensed US set a couple years back. It's nice to not pay attention to NES games anymore. 😀

  4. Oh man, those boxes are pretty awesome.

In general I think most boxes can be made to look decent when put into a protector and on a shelf. The key to that being true is that you would need the spine to look decent enough, which might not be the case on those one.

In my opinion any box is better than no box. But based on those ones, once I found upgrades I prolly would just give them to a friend that can use them, since I find it hard to sell horrible condition boxes.

I wish I knew were I packed away 2 NES boxes I picked up a few years back in a large manual lot. They are missing a huge corner of each of the boxes. Basically looks like a dog took a bite out of them.

  5. I know a lot of people know each other already, but it's interesting to hear where everyone is from.

I love meeting local collectors in my area, so let's hear it, I've actually met some of my closest friends from a connection I made a couple years back through forums.

I guess I'll start. I'm from South Florida, in the West Palm area.

  6. I think i'm going to try and use this new forum as an opportunity for me to get more active in the collector community.

I love talking about games and collecting (and making them) when I hang out with my friends locally, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to extend that to a forum setting.
