Hey man! Glad to see you coming on here!
I see you're still in Japan, things are going good for you there?
Yeah I'm still here! Things have been really good. I made a ton of friends, and though I've had my ups and downs, it has been a really positive experience. Collecting in Japan is really exciting, too.

Oh neat. Have you ever been to Edo Wonderland? It's one of the places I want to see on my trip. It looks nice from the pictures but I wonder if it's cheesy/touristy...
Sorry to say I have not been there yet, but Nikko is one area that I really want to visit. Everyone I know near me says it's a cool place. There is a lot to do there, including Nikko Toshogu, and Kegon Falls.

Ditto; I started going for a CIB Famicom set a year ago, and, at least in the Benelux, prices are 2-3x what they were summer 2018 (at auction; I've noticed a great increase in bidders).
Honestly, even locally I've noticed prices going up. Many used shops that I've been to have old games, and I used to be able to grab stuff out of a bin for 100 yen each, but they seem to have discovered that they can sell these things for a lot online.

I'm originally from Maryland, but I've been living in Japan for the last 4 years.

What's up homie?

I seem to have lost the picture, but I beat "The Firemen" on Super Famicom this year.

Missing Maryland yet?
I have moments when I feel homesick, but my life changed so drastically after coming here that it's almost hard to imagine being back there.

Oh man don't tempt me...my dream goal is to visit Japan one day...just everything about it...the food, the games, the culture, the nature...I love it.
I guess my first question is where in Japan do you live?
I live in Tochigi prefecture. I am about an hour train ride outside of Tokyo. If you ever plan on visiting I would definitely be willing to hang out.

I never really contributed anything to NA, so I don't think they are getting any value by me popping in once in a while. If the site goes down forever then I will be here, too. For now I am probably going to mainly be posting here, though.

Guitar effects pedals. I have way more than I need already, but I still find myself looking at interesting ones that I might enjoy.

Looking for a copy of Majyuu Ou for SFC. Doesn't need to be mint, but would like it at least to be fair condition. PM me and we can work out something hopefully.

Are Japanese versions forbidden?

This is a shop with a pretty impressive selection of games well outside of Tokyo. If you're in the area check out Guru Guru

Some of their prices are a little bit steep, but I did manage to find a nice condition copy of Castlevania III for about 2000 yen, and a CIB Zelda LTTP for like 1000 yen.

I second this, I've also seen many of the games on Japan rise in value especially certain Sega Saturn titles.
Sega Saturn actually is one console I've completely ignored. I have never even played a saturn game. Is it something I should be looking into? I see Saturn games all over the place.

I would also like to see something like this, and was planning on suggesting is as well. TeamLiquid has a sort of feature like this on their website.

I might be biased because I live overseas now, but I feel that as the American Nintendo market became overly competitive, people will turn their eyes to international items. I've noticed a steady increase in the desirability of Japanese Nintendo releases over the past few years.

Hey everybody, some of you guys might have traded with me on another gaming website most of us are familiar with. I love 16-bits and since I moved to Japan, I started hitting the famicom and super famicom libraries pretty hard. However, since used games are so much easier for me to find over here, I've even branched out and begun collecting pc engine, N64, PS, gameboy, etc. If you guys have any questions about life or collecting over here, let me know.
