  1. I don't know if people watch the little 4 icon progression thing like I do on the website (waiting/opened/grading/something else?), but I was wondering if anyone knew expected times from the "grading" category. Seeing as how things are behind, I'm assuming the answer will be no, but even getting estimates based on what people have already experienced might be helpful.

A whole bunch of sealed copies turned up in Mexico 6 or 7 years ago.  Hardly anyone opened those, so there are just as many sealed copies floating around as there are loose carts.

That makes sense. Gotta love the warehouse finds

  3. These don't really seem that expensive compared to cart only. Am I missing something? For such a rare game you'd think sealed copies would be off the charts. last sealed sold for like, 400 a couple years ago and that's the last on GVN, so not a ton to go off of with recent spikes. I know very little about unlicensed games.... So there's that

    Also, some mismatch variants exist.

No oval seal Contra or World Games box, but plenty of cartridges.

That parts just odd to me. The konami 5 screw refurbs make some sense, but the seals not matching is just weird. I'm guessing that's just the smallest overlap where factories switched fully over to those carts and then the box production side of things was still working with the old stuff? Or maybe they overproduced boxes in the beginning 🤔

I understand the progression, but games do not always have all the variants. Like you could have a game that was mostly circle seal and then stopped production until a re-release after they were only using the Oval Seal R.

That is why we were curious to poll the population to see if many other people had that 3 screw DK variant with the TM or if it was perhaps a refurb pieced together from perhaps someone sending in a broken cartridge etc.

    Nicely put

  6. I've had these stored for a while and attempted to sell about a year ago but the Lego forums turned me away cause I guess they don't like people jumping on there for just one sale. Anyways, there are 2 bins that have partially constructed sets in them (I think they're actually 4-5 sets total), but they're all probably missing some stuff. I think the village houses are the most complete.

Also a pile of Lego guys and gear.

I love these Lego, but have had no room to display and they've been collecting dust for a while. I'd rather them go somewhere more appreciated.

Lastly, I understand that incomplete sets aren't worth as much, so I'm going offer only as is. Everything in the pictures is yours. If you need more pics or info I'm cool with that. Thanks.

I don't think we can apply every single rule to comic collecting to that of video game collecting. You'll get the pure comic collectors buying things simply on hype and what they recognize as being popular. Game collectors tend to buy things for hype, nostalgia and genuine rarity. Art covers are certainly not determinant of prices looking at the overall trends, but more the franchise popularity.

Yeah, after thinking about it more I think this is accurate. Still, there's a part of me that wants to pick up games with unique or interesting art and just slab them because they look bad ass.

What's the difficulty like on Snow Bros (compared to something similar like Bubble Bobble)? I've been considering getting a copy someday, but I'd hate to shell-out for a game that I can't reasonably make any progress in...

Yeah, it's not that hard. Challenging enough to be fun, but it's a game you can go through in a few hours even while learning the ins and outs of it

  9. Seems to me like comic book collectors getting into gaming has opened up this door. First noticed it when a copy of CIB joker returns graded went for 900 +... Might be the draw to TMNT games and the like as well. Does this seem like a trend to anyone else?
