It seems a bit interesting to not count a LRG release, meanwhile people require like, Nintendo World Championship or something bizarre like that as if that counts for anything. Would someone say that Double Dragon 4 or Neon From LRG doesn't count, but Final Fight Guy on SNES does despite never having a formal retail release?

I don’t know of many people that count an NWC for the set.  Final Fight maybe up for discussion but it was manufactured by Nintendo and has retail packaging. None of the LRG stuff was licensed by Nintendo. Same applies for all the Game Boy stuff LRG releases now.

As always people can define their own set list. I think the majority has decided what goes into a licensed set by now and it can be altered from there to fit ones needs.

Does anyone know what day Arcade PAradise went on sale on LRG? It's not listed and I can't seem to figure it out.

Arcade Paradise ($29.99 USD) distributed through LRG Pre-Orders open at 12 PM EST on June 28th will remain open for a limited time.

Is that loose or complete? Because there are over 20 different DS games going for $100+ complete. The number is probably closer to 30-50 if you go through them all. And of those, you have some going much more than $100.

A DS Complete set (over 1700+) is roughly $15-$18. There are about 70+ games that will take over at or over that $100 mark.

I hear all of what your saying and agree with many points made.

But (with all due respect), as a collector of high value items, your opinion is one with conflict of interest 😝

I agree with the conflict of interest but any collector that has knowledge of the market is going to have a conflict of interest when there is value attached to it which is pretty much 95% of us.

To me it boils down to when you got in the market and what you collect. If you got into the market 10 years ago swings are not going to matter much. If you collect sealed/graded games in the last 2-3 years they already have started to take a downward trend, do you hold or do you bail. If you’re a loose cart collector you maybe able to jump on items that newer collectors decided they don’t want anymore. It’s so hard to judge and in all honesty these talks have been going on for the last 20 years I have collected. I bought sealed games when they were dirt cheap or because I couldn’t find a CIB. I never sold when they market was booming and won’t now or if it drops. Once that money is spent for me it’s gone.

In game collecting there are so many different ways you can collect and each has different market volatility that you have to be able to adjust.

So  Unravel Two has just been released sometime in the past week physically for the Switch in the US. This was brought up in a reddit thread where someone was showing off their purchase.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/NSCollectors/new/

There seems to be some controversy that this game was released some years ago physically in the US already. While others claim it wasn't until recently, like last week recently. The thing is I follow physical US releases pretty closely as I maintain (as best I can) a list of all the physical releases and I pretty distinctly remember this game and thought it had come out already. I went to check my list and it was not there, so maybe it wasn't and I only saw a lot of media about it at the time.

So since I tend to trust the word of those on here more than rando's on reddit, can anyone confirm or deny this game having been released years before?

    Thanks

Unravel Two was released 4/13/2022 by https://videogamesplus.ca/products/unravel-2-switch?_pos=1&_sid=a5d7bb48d&_ss=r this was the first ESRB version to my knowledge.

Still can purchase from them. I purchased when they announced they had the ESRB version.

EDIT: PNP has it as well so must have been released in Canada first  https://pnpgamesonline.com/product/unravel-2-e/

EDIT 2: Best Buy is showing a 6/10/2022 release date https://www.bestbuy.com/site/unravel-2-nsw-nintendo-switch/6510244.p?skuId=6510244

The Canadian and the Best Buy release have different UPC and text on the cover

    US - 014633382686 - HAC P ASGGAA - 3826801601

    Canadian - 014633747928 - HAC P ASGGA - 7479201601

You're generalising sealed collectors and turning off people from answering you with some of your comments.

I have many sealed / graded games and have only ever sold one, it's not always about money. I still have over 20 and have graded games because I personally wanted them graded. I also have quite a few that aren't sealed which I have graded.

How so? Sealed collectors generally don’t care about loose carts therfore, they wouldn’t bother answering his question because they can’t understand either.

For example NWC hasn’t taken off like some other similar rare sealed games because it doesn’t have pretty artwork in a sealed box.

The issue with rhythm thief is that it was labeled a rare game early but it turned out to not really, actually be that rare just uncommon from poor sales or distribution.

To me, is a classic scenario of googling rare 3ds games to speculate on the future price. 3ds in general I feel like has been over speculated during the pandemic just bc people saw what happened with mid term DS games and tired to keep the trend going.

Long story short, if I had Rhythm Thief I'd be selling it right now with the expectation of buying it back on a couple years for under $200

I like the gamble but I’m not sure I would take it. It took me at least 6 months to find one at a GameStop 3+ years ago when I was wrapping up the 3DS. Not sure this will take a 50% drop in a couple years. Flat or down 20-25% sure….. but hey I’m still waiting for Gameboy prices to come down since 2010 lol.

Oh hell yes I'm in that group and know what you mean. Some absolute hardcore people that are getting ALL regions and a lot already above the 1k mark of Switch games. That's what keeps me motivated to keep going and not stopping.

I bailed on Region collecting. At one time I had all NTSC and every English copy of PAL then followed by JPN/Asia. PAL and JPN went out the door and now I only get NTSC along whatever import I want to play. It was easy to get discounts on NTSC games but imports were much harder.

  9. Over a 100 with the oldest some Kickstarter game from about 5 years ago for a switch game that has yet to be released. I’ve learned what companies to pre-order at release, which ones to wait, what retail releases to scoop up and which ones to wait till they are on sale. It’s a balance but fun.

Anyone was able to score a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition? I've been on the wait page for an hour now. Yes I am timing it lol. Guess I can Kiss my luck goodbye unless they do plan on adding more. Was an hour too late since I was at work and missed opening, but from the looks of it some people said they had sold out page like minutes after released.

"The My Nintendo Store is currently undergoing maintenance. Please check back soon, and thank you for your understanding."

No one scored. The site crashed immediately and would not allow anyone to login to the site. The waiting page you speak of came up about 11:50 after the site crashed. A few people got it into their cart (me included) but then the cart would show empty or said you reached the max allowed. Either AFAIK no one was able to check out.

I’m gonna be honest with you, I had forgotten about Dispatch. I had canceled my preorders a year+ ago, right before they came back and announced that they were closer to shipping these games, only to never be heard from again. And honestly it’s all super disappointing because I really liked the release they had planned for Japanese Rail Sim and now it looks like it will never materialize. Sad!

I believe English is in the cart

Man I like the idea of having a closed off space for the valuables but I like the idea of everything just being out and just surrounding the space sort of like SeeJayAre. I don’t really have any signs that plug in but I’ll take that into consideration for maybe the future. The space is just basically framed out around the foundation now so definitely running AV up high to whatever TVs I plan on hanging. My current gen stuff will be upstairs with my LG CX TV some I’m not too worried about networking but I will probably do it anyways cause I’ll regret not doing it once the drywall goes up. I’m crazy about hiding wires so definitely all that in the walls. I’m really hoping the rest of the house is already wired with cat5e/cat6 but I’m not holding my breath on that!

As some with a “safe room” or vault type setup for strictly the games I can tell you it’s the best thing IMO. I don’t have to worry about kids getting to the games, the times something has to be serviced that’s in the basement (water hear or electrical panel for example) and my stress level is overall less knowing they can’t be seen unless I want you to see them.

If you starting with a blank slate things to consider are

    1. lighting- do you want can lights, LED on shelves, display lighting. Lighting is honestly the single most important thing.
    2. If you plan to have cameras down there consider placement so you can run power.
    3. For you main /display sitting area. Surround sound? Dolby 5.1, 7.1, 7.2.4. Running the speaker wire ahead of time saves a ton of time

    4. Where are you mounting Displays? Are you going to setup like SeeJayAre with CRTs in every corner. If so you need to plan for power

    5. Are you planning to add centralized air condition system.
    6. Do you have any potential for leaks? Is the water coming in thru the basement and visible.

    7. are there any humidity issue in the basement? If so think about how to address

if you plan to use Cody’s system it’s very flexible. Map out your layout on paper and take corner turns into consideration so you don’t order more material than you need. I believe he mounted to the stud and skip a couple spots and plans to redo a couple areas. If studs are placed every 16” the it won’t sag but the upfront cost it higher.

Last thing I’ve ran into is how do you plan to display console boxes or controllers, if any.

starting from scratch is fun. Can’t wait to see the pictures of the progress.

Have one door into and out of the school and have armed police officers at that door.

This isn't practical due to life safety concerns. You have to have means of egress in case of a fire which is more likely. There is no perfect solution but thru discussion I am sure thee can be a middle ground to keep children safe.
