  1. I have a few CIBs graded. Everything has to be perfect to reach a 9 and I have frankensteined a few of them to get there. It’s just frustrating when you have a minty box and cart (9.4+) and then a manual that has a small fold or some wrinkles and it grades out way lower than what the eye can actually see. And in a perfect scenario I’d like for them to start acknowledging the 100% CIBs.

  2. I’m just noticing this. I suppose this is just the nature of auctions. But if B+ seals “devalue” a game like in this example, then give me all the B+ seals! Looking through the past sales of the game, they’re all over the place and don’t make any sense but again I suppose it’s all in who’s participating in that auction and how bad they want it.

  3. I made it a point over the years to collect games that are 100% complete, especially ps1 games. I’ve had cib Resident Evil Long Box, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear Solid all graded by wata but they do not denote that the registration card is in tact. I find this a little frustrating. I think these cards should also come with a supplemental grade. Makes me wonder if they still grade the manuals the same on these games even if the reg cards were cut out of the manuals, because I’ve not seen it denoted in any case of graded cib, at least from what I’ve seen.

Except that it's not, because Halo was one of the most produced titles for the Xbox, even at launch.  Sure, sealed copies are much rarer than open ones, but given the millions of these things that got produced, they are not rare by any stretch, and thus not worth the wild, crazy price boosts that everybody saw on them a relatively short while ago.  The short truth is people stopped drinking the Kool-Aid and started coming back to their senses, causing the bottom to fall out of the massive pump-and-dump arena that existed across multiple collectibles spheres for the past 2-3 years or so.

Oh, they can play them, they would just eliminate all hope of ever getting back even a sliver of what they overpaid for the title in order to do so.  I guess those that get left in their plastic tombs can be permanent idols to hubris and greed?

Disagree. Collectibles investments are simply not feasible in the current economic environment. This is why you see it across the board. Tom Brady rookie cards selling for a hundred thousand dollars less these days compared to 2020-2021 when everyone received free money and the interest rates were nothing.

  5. I was just searching for a thread like this and here it is! I’m looking to send an order in but with a few more cib’s. I have not followed through with actually putting my order in as I saw a note that says I have to pay a $25 membership fee. Is there any way around that? Even still, wata’s cib pricing and turnaround times are way too high so it’s still more cost effective to use CGC for cib grading even with the fee.

  6. I like how this YouTubers primary source of fraud is based on their complete misunderstanding of how markets work.

I have a nice house, I don’t want to sell it. A person comes along and says wow, nice house, I’ll pay you 500k for that house. I reject that offer, but the realty firm who was working to broker that offer now knows about my house and how cool it is, and a realtor who works within that firm REALLY likes my house and offers me $1 million. According to this video, that is fraud. Lol
