  1. I just opened a Super Monaco GP Sega Classics.

It turns out to be the earlier release with Joe Montana / Golden Axe II posters and 3/91 reg card.

I believe that there is also a variant (same case) with the "sega classics best for less" inserts and a '92 reg card.

Regarding the "cool kids know" trading card I was just given a link to an old SegaAge thread with a few interesting pictures. Maybe the card came with more than just Sonic 3?

    *edit*

Looks like Taz Mega Hits (without the round yellow sega seal in the corner, that's the majesco one) probably comes with the card.

That makes three I've seen so far.

  2. Apart from that copy of Sonic Spinball I usually only associate the card with Sonic 3 Mega Hits.

I have seen it come with Mega Hits Ecco Tides of Time once, but only once. It didn't have any of the other inserts present, until I see more I assume it was a mix up.

ESRB Sonic Spinball release has b/w manual with ESRB rating👍

I've seen a number of the KA sonic spinball with color manuals, enough for me to believe that there is a hybrid release with the KA and a color manual.

Here are three more pictured KAs with the same insert and color manual.

The first copy also had the epilepsy warning sheet, like the third shows.

  4. Once upon a time back when sealed Genesis games were only modestly above CIB copies in price, I bought a sealed Gunstar Heroes.

Having previous success with VGA I sent it in to be graded and expected a 85 grade or so.

It came back ungraded and they said it was a reseal.

Trusting VGA that it was a reseal I opened the Gunstar to confirm CIB contents. I found it was indeed brand spankin' new, fruit roll up and insert poster and everything. Pin connectors on the cart immaculate and perfect under magnification.

I was so mad that I pretty much sold my whole collection.

In retrospect I should have just been happy I had a 100% CIB minty copy, but I got all bent out of shape for some reason.

Moral of the story is that VGA is staffed by actual human beings who sometimes make errors. They are not God almighty.

Genesis games come with a variety of different seal styles, depending on the company and print run.

Did you find that at the end of a long dungeon full of traps and monsters?
