So when you have Xbox live gold and you purchase Xbox game pass ultimate the time you have left on Xbox gold automatically gets added to your game pass ultimate. So in example I buy my Xbox live gold two years at a time ($50 on the Microsoft alumni store) and I just signed up for Xbox game pass ultimate for $1 (promotion on microsoft.com) for the first month. I just renewed my Xbox live for two years in July so now my next game pass ultimate isn’t due until 7/22. The only downfall is I can’t downgrade back to Xbox live gold but game pass will probably become the norm.
