Did Japan have anything like VidPro cards during the 80s and 90s?

If you aren’t familiar with Vidpro cards, places like Toys-R-Us, K-Mart, maybe walmart would have their games on racks in locked cabinets.  To show off there inventory, there were these plastic cards that they slid into frames to show of grid of games.  You can easily find these on eBay.

My question is, was something like this used primarily in the Famicom/SFC era and if so what were they called? I might like try and hunt some down. Form factor doesn’t have to be the same but if they had “cards” that were used to list games with art on them, I’d like to search for them.
