  1. Heads up.  VGA population report is back online.

    https://apps.cgagrading.com/submissions/population-report/

Not a good interface.  The search is case sensitive (and many games are in their database with the title in full caps)

I've poked around a bit and there are some interesting numbers:

They show 3 sealed Jaguar console systmes have been graded  (and 2 two 'qualified' systems).  and apparenlty, they've graded 30 sealed Earthbounds

  2. I can match what monsterG says -- I have two very complete DMG-GBTR-USA-3 boxed systems in my collection that have (seemingly) everything but neither has the bags for the manuals.

I would expect them to be bagged -- as that had been the habit for Nintendo but It doesn't seem as if they were  (?)

  3. Its not unreasonable to be suspicious.  I had a small auction close last weekend.  I mailed the item Monday morning and then I received this email Monday evening (over 48 hours after the auction had closed).

Ebay closed the account and the cancelled the sale after I had mailed the item  😕

  4. What led you to assign the NES-DOC rear projection warning sheet to the NES LoZ cart?  I know that that inset was used with Double Dragon II (around 1990) but I haven't seen it included with Zelda.

Also -- there were different printings & variations of the NES legend of Zelda game and the inserts would have changed over time.  Did you account for that in this thread (sorry if I missed it)

Rad Racer. I added its details to the opening post and also added your additions. Thank you. I think these contributions help those that are looking to make their games 100% complete. A lot of people are visual, so this is useful.

A Nintendo published, first party title didn't ship with a promotional poster?  If this is correct, I suppose it could have been left out due to the additional space that the glasses took but that seems odd to me.

  6. I've heard a number of explanations on the "star cade" that is shown on NES box tabs and manuals occasionally.  WATA has posted that they were on 'promo' copies of games given out  (and perhaps thats true in some situations -- I cannot confirm or deny)

Hoping to add a bit to the discussion here.  I've have two copies of the same game, each with date codes similar to each other:

Jack Nicklaus Golf  Box date - 00107.  Manual Date  00107

    image.jpeg.30cf46e8eb9b090c02a1f10db06468d7.jpeg

Jack Nicklaus Golf  Box date - 00604.  Manual Date  00607

The manual printing roughly 6 months later, in mid-1990 has a star code.  The only difference is the rear projection TV warning

So, as far has star codes on manuals, I'd suspect that indicate some sort of minor variation not worthy of a -1 or -2 code revision.  And probably most likely, its in regards to the Rear Projection warning.

Question then may be -- were the games that included the separate Rear Projection warning sheet insert produced in the timeframe just before this (early 1990) and then did this warning become standard language in all manuals after the star code was no longer used?

  7. Yes, it did come from Ebay and I have a suspicion that it is a reproduction.

The seller has a perfect review history there -- but many, many other similar signs that also look to be reproductions.  Thats a big reason I started this thread -- to determine if this is in fact not authentic and to warn others.

  8. Does anyone recognize this sign?  There are no markings on the back and it doesn't feel like any other Nintendo sign I'm familiar with.  It's metal with some sort of porcelain like enamel.  Not flat, the letters are slightly embedded

  9. I have a stand along R.O.B. boxed  - includes the 'stryofoam' as well as the large "Now you player with Power poster".  The poster in this box was folded an extra fold  (other than that, its the only way to differentiate between a poster form the Deluxe set).  Also has the original Sears receipt.

Its listed up on a large auction site -- willing to avoid fees and sell here for bit cheaper.  $475

I also will be posting a Big Box Gyromite soon.  If interested, just send me a PM.
