I don't have a concrete timeline for when the polycarbonate holders will start being used but I'd guess sometime in the second quarter. For replacing old holders with the new one, I have heard there will be a special of some sort for upgrading to the new holders.
Hopefully soon, have just gotten this beauty after a veeeeeeeeery long time looking for a nice copy and was about to make
the submission, but prefer a new case , any news on how it will be?

WATA is about to start using a new case design, at some point this year. What they are using now will become the legacy holders I believe.
Damn I’ll wait then, and what if I want to replace my old ones for new ones? Is there any ETA?

Hi! I am looking for a sealed copy of Dark Cloud PAL version, hmu if you own a copy thanks!
-
Got my grades posted for my latest submission, very happy with the Dark cloud 9.6 A+ and the Dark Cloud2(japanese version) 9.8A+ ( the art is gorgeous)
Also, very happy with the grade of the burnout 2 (was my first ever car game and it is actually pop 1)
A bit dissapointed on my Dragon ball budokai saga seal rating only got an A.
This made me think, what would you rather prefer, a 9.6 A or a 9.2 A+? Not sure myself on what I prefer tbh

I think those are questions to be asked before, not after, but it's funny so many people come around here asking the same questions after they've dropped money on this thing. Amazing glue residue, you have no choice but to see it as modern art, now that the poor thing's forever entombed.
Regarding humidity, if those tombs are really 100% sealed, the only humidity problem is the humidity that's already inside the case before sealing. Haven't seen people discuss that problem, which is obvioulsy a problem for all graded games in the medium and long term. That's why all sealed games have ventholes or corners that let air in, I guess. You don't want any water trapped in a sealed environment, because it can't go away yes??
I dont understand this kind of attitude when I am just asking a question, but thank you for your comment I guess

Hi all. Recently I got my Pokémon games graded, and wanted to ask your opinion on how reliable/effective the cases are. According to their website, their case is UV protective, so I assume by that that we should not worry about sun fading or anything like that right?
I got my games at the living room, there is light but the sun NEVER hits them directly ( there is never direct light to my apartment as it is north-west oriented.Should I be worried or can display them there without worrying?
Also, my Pokémon red had a price tag on top and they removed it, just noticed there is now some kind of glue residue that I don’t think it was there when I received the games. Should I worry about humidity/condensation or anything even when they are inside the capsule?
just trying to figure out the best way to preserve them- 1

Interesting ill be following this as I also was considering sending some games. I contacted them and told me they only accept orders for a total value of at least 10k$. Did they also say that to you?

Speed run. It's because they're Colorado location from last year
11 hours ago, tidaldreams said:speed run ofc, seems like if you send stuff to cali they come back a lot quicker
i sent a bunch in the other day and they scanned it same day, they never did that in denver.
Just checked because I haven’t send to California yet, they were actually from December 22nd not January, sent to and shipped from Denver also.

My experience with wata for now has been pretty good too, received my speedrun orders a bit delayed but not too much. As you say I dont understand why they getting all the hate while not that many people complains as much about VGA. I would like to add that their "heavy cleaning" service has been really effective for me:

vga turnaround is at least 12 weeks right now. 8 week delay in processing and each tier is behind by a couple weeks at least.
Even on their highest tier?

The only reason reason I can understand grading a qualified game is to preserve a particularly rare title, or one that is simply unavailable sealed. Like CIB matte sticker mario or that big box earthbound on SNES.
Otherwise, grading a sealed game makes perfect sense. You never planned to open it anyway, so why not add another couple layers of plastic?
That’s particularly the case. These are the games I was thinking about.
the Japanese game boy games were not sold with a plastic seal, they were just closed. Unfortunately mine are already opened but I think they are 100% completed that’s why I was asking if they could be sent to VGA and graded as qualified ( because I assume Wata does not grade these?)The thing is, if they only grade games that were never used, I don’t know if these would apply, as I think they have been used lightly

What you highlighted were 2 examples that possibly went wrong. You need to weigh them all up with what also went right. This should be the main focus on any grading services - the relative pros versus the relative cons. Bearing in mind also that VGA probably has made other errors in their standard (non-Qualified) grading and WATA isn’t error-less in what they do in the past couple of years too.
From my end, I am a witness of some positives with the Qualified scale. 2 examples being that I sent off 2 games on separate occasions, thinking they were legit new (but opened), having bought them as old retail stock. They were both rejected because:
- one had a slightly used cart with very minor wear to the label
- one had missing consumer pamphlets
Whilst it initially annoyed me that the games were rejected, it made me feel more reassured that the Qualified ratings does help to rule out the majority of the mint CIBs masquerading as brand new.
Hi! Im taking this back up as i am considering using this qualified service. What happened in your case? did you have to pay for the grading service in full?

damn, I think im gonna try some luck with VGA with 1 or 2 games I got, according to their website "archival" service is 10-14 day turnaround (how true can that be? lol)

I am particularly talking about japanese pokemon games, got pokemon red til crystal CIB complete, and was wondering if they can grade them.
I see that recently some japanese "unopened" games are poping up graded by VGA( they didnt come out with plastic seal, they are just unopenned) so I was wondering if they could grade also my games.
As I said, these are "new unopenned" unlike mine that are actually CIB, as you can see VGA list them as game cartridge, and also says "qualified" which im not sure what it means, so i was wondering if they might grade my cib games
