  1. Little Mermaid wasn't the only title to get a sleeve for its canadian release.  I have "That's So Raven: Psychic on the Scene" and "American Dragon Jake Long: Attack of the Dark Dragon".  Both also being disney releases, i would hedge my bets on there being a few other such games.  I want to say i've seen a spectrobes.

In regards to those atlus games listed with box and cd - at the least Radiant Historia received a reprinting that did away with the box and cd.

There's also a really neat Atelier Annie collectors edition.  It's a big box that's in japanese with some figures and the DS game.  The DS game inside was english.

EDIT: Ignore me.  I see OP said this already but didn't link the source material.  Well, here's the video as well if anyone actually cares haha.  I still don't recommend anyone actually pay for and/or play this game:)

So I think I randomly found the source of the Amazing Island boom.  Video was released Aug 8.  6.6M views.  July price: $19.98.  August Price: $44.51    Just using the numbers on Price Charts.

Holy shite, is she also responsible for Fossil Fighters Champions on the DS going up!? She has a vid from last february on it and sure enough the spike was later feb/beginning march.

It was in the $40-$60 range in 2004. I used to have the Saturn version around that time.

Hmm, then it was in a slump.  I didn't start collecting saturn until the beginning of 2012 and online sales for it were in that $40 range back then and into 2013 before it disappeared online.  A local shop had a copy for $40-50 canadian that had some minor wear and i kept passing on it as i was after a mint copy.  The shop was quick to re-price it after it spiked and i ended up buying it for over $100 canadian.  That was a good price as the game was continuing to rise, but it still felt like a hollow victory.   Eitherway, back in 2012-2013 MM8 was cheaper then X4.

  4. Why is MM8 so much more valuable than MMX4?  Who knows.  There was a time, back around 2012-2013, when MM8 was reasonably available (for a saturn game) and not too expensive, $40 maybe.  Meanwhile, X4 already had a bit of value to it at the time, not $100 but more than $40 for sure.  Then in later 2013/early 2014, MM8 dried up and when it started to resurface it went to the moon while x4 didn't change at all.  After that MM8 became known as a Saturn heavy and once everyone is convinced of that there's no going back i suppose.

  5. rather late reply, but I thought I’d share a bit anyways.

I was following this game back then and that reprint turning up was a major reason behind its price sink.  It was the Wii’s most pricey base game at the time.  Not long after the reprint some new wii collectors started coming onto the scene and helped to move attention away from that and to stuff like the maximum racing games and Mensa.

  6. The most recent auction, Oct 11, ended at $143.81.  S

BIN sales are higher, but if you hunt for auctions you can get it for cheaper.  The same seller above auctioned it and two other sonics for $170ish at the end of august.

  7. Who knows.  This might not be a bad time to auction it.  The last few CIB Dick Tracy's to auction have doubled in price or more from what the game was selling for earlier this year.  It's on the harder to find side of the US SMS set and getting some recognition recently it seems.

  8. $25-30 for Bin, you could probably get it for less if you waited for auctions.  The other one you're referring to is the promotional copy and it comes in a sleeve with an orange disc.  The expensive version is the longbox version (purple disc).

There's currently a few (blue disc) up on ebay including a bin at $25 and an auction with a day and a half left currently at $4.

Here's the most recent bin https://www.ebay.com/itm/Virtua-Fighter-Remix-Not-for-Resale-Complete-in-Case-Sega-Saturn/184378830434?hash=item2aedd5ae62:g:ViwAAOSwbJtfH1fI

Here's the most recent auction i found https://www.ebay.com/itm/Virtua-Fighter-Remix-For-Sega-Saturn-Complete-NOT-FOR-RESALE/133445345912?epid=4283&hash=item1f11f66278:g:M6EAAOSwbSFe7-1G

If you're selling (and don't mind shipping to canada), let me know.  I collect mint saturn and don't have this variant (have the longbox).

  9. Illbleed is the best, it's bonkers in the best possible way.  It's definitely janky, but I also found that the controls were something you could learn and mostly get used to.  I wouldn't blame anyone for finding them (and the combat) to be too off putting though, but i really would recommend giving it some time.

If memory serves, Happy Video Game Nerd on youtube (Stop Skeletons From Fighting as his channel is now known as) had a great video on why Illbleed is just lovely.  If you appreciate dumb stuff, you should find alot to love in Illbleed.  It's legitimately one of my favourite games!

  10. Anyone have a copy?  Been on my DS want list for years and years, but as a Canadian shipping costs (or sellers not wanting to ship to me, which is the most common) have made this one tougher to find than it should be.  Recently it's not had as much of an online presence either.  I figured it might be time to just ask for help 🙂

I hadn't notice this as much and then I saw Valkyrie Profile.  Holy shit, PS1 is on fire as much as some Gamecube.  Stuff is going crazy all over at the moment.

Valkyrie Profile used to be such a mythic game(like suikoden 2 or panzer dragoon saga), it's kinda funny how its been fairly stagnant for so many years.  This sellers auction for it looks like it might have really started the price spike.  Before it auctions were pretty normal ($140ish) but since this one there have been a few $300 auctions end, and some that are currently running are already at $300.  At least from a quick look at things.

I looked through a few more of this guys sales, lots of his fighters went stupid too (and often to the same seller).  Why did SNK vs Capcom go so high!?  $152 for a $35 game, ouch.

It seems like shill bidding to me but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if those were real bids. People have been getting into some crazy bidding wars lately. Some of those PS1 games like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are crazy expensive now. Why...I don't know.

May 8th, like new copy auctions for $205.  Also May 8th, very nice copy auctions for $208.  One day later, May 9th, this dudes auctions for $501.

Mind you, it looks like some silly person put in a stupid high bid on the 2nd of may and the winning bidder constantly pushed the bid up on the day the auction ended until he surpassed the previous guys bid.  He put in over 20 bids before he took the winning spot.  Some bizarre(sorry..) stuff is going on these days.  People really should save their silly high bids until the last few seconds.

Jojo's likely expensive due to the huge spike in popularity of the series since the anime was made.  I think it was released in japan in 2012 but only finally came over here in 2016.

Woah, this guy auctioned a ps1 ghost in the shell for nearly $300.  And the winning bidder has left feedback.  And $176 for silent hill 1?  Both those auctions had numerous bidders bidding well above normal value.

  13. My sealed copy has that as well, it's under the wrap.  I bought it years ago on amazon (I think .ca, but maybe .com?  I could check if you want me to).  I think i bought it in 2013.  My memory of it was that it wasn't super hard to find at the time, but maybe that was because noone cared?  Frankly, back then most gamecube games were super easy to get your hands on if you cared.

  14. The winner looks to be the same person that won many of the interesting variants or games with extras.  The Sealed Dragon Ball guide blister pack, Crystal Chronicles gba cable blister, Crystal Chronicles with magnets, the mega man network transmission with pin, sealed Bratz, sealed grim adventures dvd bundle, the killer 7 bundle, hobbit with extras, MK with adema soundtrack and more.

  15. I actually follow your Instagram, love seeing the cool variants.  My cubix is unfortunately not sealed, but it took some time to find it so it’ll do.

i bought a sealed hot wheels off dealtavern and have been considering opening it to see after I saw that auction end.   I always assumed it did, as nitendotwizers excellent cube list doesn’t list a variant.

  16. This is awesome, and with spine cards too.  Congrats, this really is impressive and gorgeous!  I’m envious!

I find myself only adding a handful of titles a year these days, but I do love Saturn imports.  Whenever shipping restrictions to Canada lift id like to add a copy of nekketsu oyako.
