I think the big important analyst man is spending time researching in detail the things that affect Hasbro, the big billion dollar company that produces continuing value and dividends year after year. Why squander your big smart investment research on the nuances of illiquid cardboard squares that sit in a box and don't produce value rather than finding the next great tech startup? I get there are some few big smart people who speculate in collectibles, but far and away it's a bunch of middle aged Timmies who like pop culture, and investment bankers want to be the first to ditch Meta and manage the next Facebook's IPO to get real money.

I think our expectations are low, because if you see an IGN article about Magic, the author likely has a passing interest and 20 minutes of Google understanding of the market. So it's jarring to see some detailed report made by suits in a tower who certainly don't truly care, yet nail down exactly why a card game they don't even play is floundering.

What do I know though, I'm just some IT guy.

To be honest, you being called a 'shit head' is an upgrade to what you sound like. 🤔

I mean you sound more like a self-entitled millennial that'll flame Hot Topics because they will not hire them, for reasons tied to their behavior, than a nerd. Because actual nerds are not daft enough to use the term as a derogatory, much less excuse that by saying they have 'pride' in being one. Then again, nobody else here is daft enough to believe that the term "butt hurt" is an intelligent thing to say in a forum. Any forum. Okay, just ones that have smart people using them.

As for anything tied to @Jared_Goldinauctions... I am giving both him and the auction house a hard time because of the Sellersville Auction House fiasco. But I am also the type to give them a chance, with reasons being the fact that Ken Black is the COO of the grading company I chose to use. With reasons being that CAS does a great job not trying to copy CGA, Inc. when it comes to grading, doing cases, and the like.

Plus I should point out that I am an otaku, not a nerd. If we skip the fact I can develop levels of burnout, among the other issues I do face, my love of video games has me go beyond just seeing them as such. There are also the hopes of attending events, speculating what the next game in a series that I do play will be like, and more. With the additional fact that most of these "nerds" have motivated me to be the type of collector I always wanted to be.

But even then... Nope, I cannot say it.

Your behavior annoys me more than the fact that Wata is patting themselves on their collected butts in thanks to the fact HA has barred VGA, CAS, and UKG from their auctions.

    🤣🤣🤣

I'm defending the op of this topic from flaming, sorry you live in a capatalistic world, I hate it aswell but that's how the world you live in works if you haven't realized it yet. The same people bitter are the ones that don't have games to sell and the opposite are the ones happy they do and can make life changing money

Ok boomer... When did self entitled millennial become worse than shit head 🤣

When did using a term to describe yourself and jokingly using it at other people on a forum that was previously a massive niche become derogatory. I have a massive games collection and have been collecting for 12 years and many people in my personal life have called me a nerd for years and i have embraced it and laughed along side them. Sorry it upsets you and you find it derogatory.

I would say butthurt is as intelligent as self entitled millennial considering the run that you fking boomers got.

I think the Otaku (actually had to google that word) comment sums up what I'm saying nicely in matter of fact.

Sorry my behaviour annoys you, even though I know other members of this forum find your behaviour massively annoying. All your posts have this wierd anti social introverted style and its kind of funny until we keep having to read them more than twice.

I mean I annoy you more than something that I'm defending?

You had years to buy super fucking cheap games, if you didn't have the money in the passed decade I doubt you're worthy to own them in the next.

Hope your bumhole doesn't hurt too much after the goldins auction sales.

My favorite thing is when creepy little shitheads show up here in the middle of the night to try to insult us.

Creepy little shit heads, most nerd comeback ever.

Glad to see heritage not having a monopoly on the market and goldin doing vga games as well.

Sorry it butt hurts you guys for some strange reason though, probably going to be more auctions doing well off games, hope it won't keep you up at night forever.

Ps. I'm a PROUD nerd. Some of you are clearly in massive denial.

I know GTA is pretty valuable sealed and graded (saw it being sold for $5k+). I have no clue whether the PAL version would be as valuable (probably not) but still worth grading?

whats not worth grading at this point. I'm sure the PAL version will be collectable, I would grade it if it was in good condition.

Same with the 8.0 A that went for $40,200 recently. As the saying goes, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Why someone wants to pay $114k for a mid production SMB, is beyond me, but there had to be at least two people bidding to get it that high. A 9.6 CIB 5th production sold for $2880 back on March 6th. I'm not paying an extra $111,120 for shrinkwrap, but that's just me.

Who are these people, and where do they get all their money is what I want to know. Are these really just comic book collectors getting into this? If that's the case I didn't know there were so many incredibly rich comic book collectors with money to waste like this.

I wouldn't have expected a 6th print to break $100k. That 9.4 gloss sticker seal for $105k looks like a bargain now.

Zoom into that super Mario bros, multiple holes/rips and scratches, don't know much about wata grading but it's far from mint.

I may have been giving him too much credit for assuming he was the one that sent those same games into Heritage to sell.

No I'm watching his videos, I actually feel sorry for him, here's a wata unboxing he posted

Multiple graded atari ets and assassins creed for 360 that arent even good grades, this is the last guy who should have a channel giving advice to collectors/"investors".

80% complete Gamecube set currently going for $14k ending in 5 minutes. No big boxes or bundles, including Pokemon Box being incomplete and 50+ missing manuals. Gamecube set has apparently doubled in less than 6 months. Wild.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/324202662850

Edit: $14,600. Bad buy. If it was just some rich dude tossing money to the wind for a complete set, sure, but it's a barebones set to begin with and will require a bunch of work still to complete it. I don't see the value.

not sure what gamecube sets go for but its like 25 dollars a game, makes things super easy too if you want that type of thing, paying postage on 500 seperate games must be kind of annoying, I guess this was probably a pick up or something as well with how big it is? compared to the money been thrown on wata games doesn't seem like such a bad buy in the scale of things
