WATA has become absolutely atrocious. Only will be using VGA going forward.

Still waiting on a ‘speed run’ order of three games from late Oct 2020.

Their prices have quickly gone up, their service has quickly gone down the toilet.

you have been waiting for the 15 day submission since October? what does their website say about the status of the order? have you tried contacting them?

Wow, more ridiculous speculation! How exactly would I win this make believe lawsuit you just accused me of bringing? If I put the order in through Wata, their platform requires me to declare my item's worth. I wouldn't be able to sue for more than that amount in the event of them destroying my games...

How about instead of accusing me of suing Wata for billions of dollars, we talk about why Wata doesn't provide market transparency and just tells me the value of my game is "X" and I just have to trust them on that?

this is a very real potential situation from their stand point and probably why they require to place a higher value/insurance on games they dont want to be liable for

Everything you just typed is speculative. Price speculation has nothing to do with the services they provide as their service is ultimately an opinion, nothing more. I am the customer. If I say its worth this much, then that's what you ship it and insure it for.

This is fine until a 50k item you declared was worth 100$ gets lost in the mail or damaged at their facility and you sue them for market value that can be approximated and proven with recent sales.

This happened to me too and it didn't sit well. The grading company is telling ME how much MY games are worth... with ZERO transparency. I would be more inclined to pay the "additional charges" if the company openly provided population reports. Markets cannot not determined by a "wink wink just trust me", especially not by a third party for profit grading company.

i dont understand this.  you hire them to grade your games based on condition, not tell you how much your games are worth.

  6. I submitted games dec 5. Paid I think 65 per cib for 45 day turn around. Now I don’t see a 45 day  option. And prices went up a lot. 110 for 15 says or 85$ for 60 Days. That’s quite a jump. Demand must be high. I wonder if they would ever discontinue cib grading. I believe someone who works there said it’s not very profitable for them

  7. Im seeing carts on ebay for sale with photos of the interior circuit board.  Is there a resource I can check to see if its the right one? or how are you supposed to know if that board belongs with that cart?

    edit

    I found this resource

    https://snescentral.com/article.php?id=0650

    https://snescentral.com/pcb.php?id=0650&num=0&side=front

although im still unsure.  the board in the photo looks correct in terms of layout of the circuitry but the manufactuer says toshiba which the one on snescentral does not.

Well, since my games arrived December 23, today is the fifteenth business day since then and they're still in grading status. I don't have a lot of faith they'll magically be completed by the end of today.

I think it’s been established here in a few threads that the time you pay for is an estimate and they almost never hit that target. At least lately

Haha, okay then!  Have you ever in your life bought something for hundreds or thousands of dollars sight unseen because someone else said to you, "hey, trust me, it's in really nice shape..."  If so, more power to ya, but I'm going to side with the other 99.9999% of consumers in this world who like to see what they're paying for.

Yes I have and so does everyone. This happens all the time in life. You trust professionals when you don’t have the knowledge, experience, or ability to physically see something. You trust the mechanic when he says parts under your hood need replacing. Doctors when they give you a diagnosis etc

Sealed grading also implies your trusting the grading company. How do you know that the contents are inside and that it wasn’t a fake resealed box?

Your argument main argument seems to be that they are human and make mistakes. That’s true but they don’t make mistakes often enough to completely throw out their judgement and expertise.

Regardless of my input or your opinion, the fact is the market currently disagrees with you and has for a long time. Comic book grading where you can’t see the inside page condition or artwork has long been successful. Sealed grading and cib grading have taken off so much so that the market is large enough for 2 main players, one of which has so many orders currently they had to put a hold on taking in further revenue to satisfy the demand.
