  1. Anyone else get a shipping sticker shock from Strictly Limited Games recently?

A year or so ago when I ordered Deathsmiles from them I paid $10 for shipping.

Today I got quoted $25 shipping for Osman. No, I did not place an order for it due to this.

How come that games will only be released for Switch? I've seen it multiple times by now.

I believe it comes down purely to the Switch dominating in Japan and the Japanese devs not wanting to put resources into other ports.

No PC-Engine CD Valis IV in the collection, which is odd since these are all the PC-Engine versions in this collection.

  3. I hadn't read this thread until today, but I did increase my ebay prices prior to the end of 2021 to account for the increased tax headache I will be dealing with getting rid of some of my unwanted collectibles.  I did have buyers already.

I'll put up with ebay and the 1099-K tax reporting for for this year. If I'm too annoyed by it, I'll just hang up my hat on the prospect of selling the small amount of stuff I have no use for.

  4. There's more than likely going to be an official reprint of Pocky and Rocky 2 in the near future since Limited Run Games is currently partnering with Natsume to re-publish their retro catalog. If you don't mind the Nintendo seal of approval not being on the cart maybe look into re-selling that P&R 2 you bought and get that instead. You'll save a few bucks and have a legitimate version of the game for your SNES.

A news article about a forum post on ResetEra, brilliant. Also "ResetEra"?? Excuse me, I only recognize a certain handful of forums that ripped off AtariAge's naming scheme and ResetEra will not be one of them.

Don't want to be the nerd here, but ResetEra spawned from gaming-age.com/neogaf forums over a schism with the admin. Gaming-age.com was first registered in 1997. AtariAge.com was registered in 2000.

  6. Taito/Square Enix has been milking the old Darius games as much as they possibly could with their releases over the last decade. Remastering the PSP game over and over again and putting out collections of the older games for higher prices. Sometimes splitting them for expensive double-dips. I hope this is the last time they do this and actually produce something new in the Darius series.

What second check? Still haven't gotten mine. But regardless prices will continue to rise because somehow people simultaneously have no money and are struggling to pay bills while also having a lot of money to blow on old games. Meanwhile I'm slowly selling mine when I really don't want to, but to help pay my bills. 🤷

This has perplexed me since the COVID economic downturn started. Somehow collectibles can skyrocket in price with major job losses happening.

  8. My favorite shooter on the NES. Great gameplay with really good graphics and music.

Just grab the number 7 weapon the whole game and you should be able to beat it.

I know some prefer the original MSX version or the “EX” version on the MSX2. The EX version is interesting to me. It has a real ending screen rather than just some text.

So, the last I sold on eBay, I had no trouble getting PayPal. I have never associated a bank account with them and I've even paid feed for eBay through PayPal. My guess is, they will hustle those of us like me, last. But, I've received no emails pressuring me to provide a bank account for payment.

However, yesterday I went to buy something and though payment by PayPal was still an option, I kept getting HTTP 423 errors, which is suppose to be to many redirects.

I tried to pay all day and eventually just paid with my PayPal debit card. The reason this whole thing sucks to me is PayPal is like a bank account light. Plus, we all know how easy it is to send money back and forth to others.

If you are like me and sell game won eBay to buy more collectibles and stuff, this now means you have to wait for your payments to deposit and then re-deposit them into PayPal. This is such an annoyance.

I agree. I liked the ability to just sell on ebay, leave the funds parked on Paypal, and buy something else without the transfer times. Now I'm lucky to get my money within a week of something selling.

What is the actual cut off?  I've still not got a word out of them about any turn around and I removed my info from there years ago other than PayPal.  I just confirmed it looking into my entire seller account and I have listed as it sits right now as Primary = PayPal  and Secondary = Credit Card (expired like 3-4 years ago which I refused to update when they nagged about it when that happened.)

I'm curious to see how they handle having nothing but that tied.

For me Ebay sent a message to my account with this demand "All sellers receiving this email are required to update their account details by 12/31".

I've read before they want to get all sellers switched over by the end of 2021. It seems random when they send you the demand message.

I agree the animation style looks bad.  I'd rather them just do a simple 2d pixel art style new GnG game.

This looks like a Sonic Mania style remix of the original games with some new stuff added. They should have just went with that look and gave us a 16/32-bit mash-up like Sonic Mania. I would have been fine with that.

Either that or the Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom look. Which IMO, is what modern 2D games that don't use retro assets should strive for.
