Stettgart | 1 Posted August 31, 2020 Share Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) Hey everyone, yesterday I was fortunate enough to come across a Nintendo Switch kiosk from a Gamestop closing down in my area. It has the Raspberry Pi tablet in it still, but when I power it on, the screen just says "Out of Service". The only piece I am missing other than a NIntendo Switch is the television and the Switch itself, but I don't have any clue on how to access the tablet. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on how to get the tablet loaded with demo videos? What is the expected behavior of the tablet? I'm thinking that may be the case, but I'm hoping there's some way for me to get the software back on. I would like to restore it to an interactive display if possible. If the software is proprietary Nintendo there is almost no shot of that unless someone got one and dumped it somewhere. Entirely feasible for you to put a supported version of Linux on it though. Not sure what your end goal is though. I’ve never seen that kiosk so I don’t know what the tablet does. Yeah, I'm probably going to have to just configure it with something else, I'd just like to be sure I'm not erasing anything unique or important before messing with the files on it. There are some that have the pi software that goes on the micro ds card, you just plug that in. Nintendo updated the pi's and shut them down so people didn't touch them due to virus concerns. Discord has the original pi versions that play the original version software 1.0 which has a game list and videos, and there are also some images of newer versions of the labo stuff.
