Coming off their 2nd place win from the NESdev Compo 2016, Dullahan Software reworked, expanded, and improved their air dashing side-scrolling platformer.
While on your way back home, you crash land your space ship and emerge from wreckage with a crystal hungry octopus attached to your head. In order to get home, you are going to have find ship parts in this unknown landscape. However, you must feed the beast attached to your head in order to survive. That octopus loves crystals, lucky for you they are throughout the landscape for taking. The crystals are not plentiful, but available, and you will be watching that counter tick down, worrying the entire time if you are going to stay alive.
Horizontal air dash your way through the levels, killing enemies, avoiding pits, and breaking through barriers. Once you get all the ship parts, you are home free. Was that too easy? Start again in hard mode and do it all over again.
This homebrew was released in two physical editions. A limited edition, of 100 units, that included a CIB copy of the game with clear cartridge and poster was available on their Kickstarter campaign. As well as a regular edition that included a CIB copy of the game with a grey cartridge that was avaible on their Kickstarter and on their website post campaign.
The NESdev Comp version was available physically on the Action 53 Vol. 3 cartridge, which had five versions. A NES CIB limited edition, NES CIB regular edition, NES loose edition, Famicom CIB edition, and Famicom loose edition, which are / were available through Infinite NES Lives.
