A sealed copy of 1990 video game John Madden Football for the Sega Genesis sold for $480,000, setting a new world record for the highest price paid for a sports video game.

Heritage Auctions said the video game, the first in a series of yearly releases of Madden football games for home consoles, fetched $480,000 in the auction, a new record for a sports video game.

You came to a place where the users compulsively fill their basements with thousands of games and you didn’t expect to get in an argument about FTC rulings?  Well, I don’t think you thought that through very much then 😜

You leave my man cave basement out of this!

I want them to go up in price and i want them to go down in price...for real...what is my situation?

As a collector and not a reseller we want them all to go down in price so we can continue to take part in a hobby we enjoy and not be priced out.

It's an hour-long watch, and a lot of stuff we've already discussed here on VGS, but it takes everything and puts it in a nice consumable video and makes it all pretty clear.

He goes into NintendoAge stuff pretty deeply especially.

As a collector this whole thing frustrates me so much. I have been collecting for a long time across numerous sites (CAG, GameTZ, NA) and seeing this manipulation destroy one of the best sites for information and selling/trading is really upsetting.
