I think BOTW isn't for everyone, despite the fact that I think it is amazing. You are definitely going to be just exploring, a LOT. And to that end, I think they did an excellent job on making an open world style game, yet keep it feeling organic in the way the story evolves (or doesn't if you don't want to bother). My only two gripes with the game is the shrines (they feel like mini-games instead of story progression pieces) and the speed at which weapons break. I like the durability aspect, but I honestly feel like it is too fast - maybe slow it down by about half.

Act Raiser 2 always struck me as a disappointment. The first game was really good with some unique gameplay. The second just felt like a generic platformer.

Welcome to VGS! Is you current project far enough along that you’d be willing to share a video or some screen shots?
Yeah, I will do that soon! I have some older videos, but I'd like to get together a newer one that will show the current state.

Hello Nate! Are you currently developing for any particular system?
Hello! Yeah, I am developing a game for PC in Game Maker Studio for about 9-12 months called 100 Hearts. It is a retro-inspired action RPG style game. It is still fairly basic, but coming along nicely (I do it in my spare time). I am a web developer professionally. If everything goes good, eventually I am hoping to port it to some of the home consoles, though I am a long ways off from that.

Hey all, my name is Nate and I just found out about this forum from some retro collector friends local to me! I am not a super hardcore collector, but I do have a nice little one going, mostly focusing on NES at the moment - though anything from the Intellivision->N64 eras are of interest to me.
Thanks!

First person dungeon crawlers

Back in the day, Dungeon Hack was my jam. I am not sure how it holds up now, but the fact that it was all random generated dungeons really worked for me.
