So how do you know what to accept even if someone offers you money? Are you just fishing for big offers?

Not really, just fishing is all. I threw it up on ebay. 10 people have looked at it, 1 person watching. BIN for $350. I guess I'd be happy with that number but may take less.

  2. Looking to move this. I won it from a contest thread that James Todd had on NA a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away! Make an offer!IMG_1840.JPG.5df7e524913cf8a2f4a8c67f3f04751f.JPGIMG_1839.JPG.33a6e3908df85947fefba2f0f1fe7ab9.JPGIMG_1838.JPG.23ea3054f97120a79bb0f878cc5209e7.JPG

    4’ (Left Pointing) Mario Statue - $5,500

I have more pictures from more angles if there is any interest.

Thank you. I appreciate your support for the game and your recognition of its quality.

    You're welcome!

I'm not going to badger you, like I said before it is 100% your choice. I will say though that a simple Kickstarter campaign would definitely perform well. I can almost guarantee that it would exceed your expectations. You would have absolutely no problem raising the funds for SK 2. Since it's a popular funding platform you would also be exposing a ton of new people to Star Keeper furthering the popularity of your IP.

I know you said it's a lot of work for you now but I personally think it's worth it. In the video game community you will be immortalized through Star Keeper. You're already somewhat of a living legend.

Again I wish you luck, prosperity, and am looking forward to the sequel.

  4. Might as well put my 2 cents in....

I purchased an original copy on NA when it was first available. I thoroughly enjoy the game. It's fun and addictive. I also enjoy the whole story behind it and the fact that it ended up being a pretty sought after item.

That being said, I really don't care about the value of my copy. I won't be selling it for a long time wether it's worth $10,000 or $10. So any kind of reprint to get this game out into the hands of other people who want to play it is doesn't bother me in the least. As far as a rom goes, I'm really not a fan. It's not about value, it's about purity.

I personally like the LRG idea that's been floated around. It's makes the most sense considering Star Keeper is just one game. The IP doesn't hold any weight yet. The reason why it's expensive is not the IP, it's because it's a hard to obtain and fun game. IPs are built up over time with multiple quality releases.

Ultimately, the decision is at the hands of the creator. I understand wanting to steer him into better ideas but you can't force his hand. If it was my creation I wouldn't want a barrage of people all barking at me telling me that I'm wrong. He can do with his games and IP whatever he sees fit.

The only thing I hope for is that sometime in the near future he makes a sequel.

Anyway, @zxdplay, I love your game. It is truly a work of art. I wish you luck with whatever path you take. You deserve to make some money from your creation and I hope your choices take you there. Thanks for the great game and please make a sequel!

My first was a rusted out '79 Ford LTD in 1995 for fifty bucks.  Drove it till the engine caught fire!  Man that thing was a boat, and the front seat was basically a sofa.  You coud sit four up front and still be comfortable enough to drive.  Good times, good times.....

That’s Awesome! Mine was also a ‘79 LTD. Booger green. Bought it off my friends Mom for $100. Had to stick a screwdriver in the solenoid to get it started. Used to go blazing down alleys in it nailing the old metal 55 gallon drum garbage cans. Side swiped a tree with it and sold it to a pizza delivery guy for $150 bucks.

  6. Went down to my local Fry's today to check out their fixtures for sale. Did some digging around and found some pretty cool stuff. Nothing really amazing but I'm pretty psyched about the Nintendo retail binder. If you have a Fry's near by you should go check them out. They just started selling the fixtures yesterday at mine.

That's weird - for me it's my right thumb that takes a beating because I sort of hover around the center of the room in a little diamond and try not to move too much but I am constantly changing my shooting direction with my right thumb like multiple times a second sometimes, so my right thumb is the one that's 'bout ready to die...

I'm flying all over the place trying to pick up as much cash and prizes as possible. The constant bobbing and weaving between baddies tears my thumb to shreds. Also, I work a manual labor job and am right handed so maybe my right thumb is just a bit more used to the abuse.

Oh yeah, I get it, and from the last time I played this game with two regular controllers, this sounds like a very good idea!

Just finished a run with the Max. Thumb made it through unscathed. The only downside is that it's kind of funky holding it sideways with the design of the controller. Those "ergonomic" fins force you to hold it on a slight angle which takes a little getting used to.

Playing with NES Max controller(s) is okay as long as the turbo option is off at all time.

I would just be using it to move the player with my left hand cause that is the thumb that takes a beating. I would be using a regular NES controller in the other hand to fire. I don’t think the turbo could even be used with that set up.

  10. Never really played this game before. Tried with the single controller, didn't get very far. Tried the double fist and in my opinion, that is definitely the way to go on this one. I think I can do a lot better just need to find the time!

Second double-fist run and holy hell my fucking thumbs are sore. Especially the left one! Any tips for helping to not turn your thumbs into hamburger meat? Good improvement but I'm gonna give it a rest until tomorrow. I got blistas on mee fingas! (not really)

First run with a NES Max controller for movement. Slight improvement but most importantly the thumb still feels great. Downside is the awkward shape of the Max while holding it sideways.

    Current scoreboard posted.

Also, you all who have been posting score updates in a new reply would help me GREATLY if you instead edit and update the original score reply with the new score and post that you updated your score instead.
It is a lot harder to tally the scores when you have like 5+ different scores posted around the thread.

Ok, sorry. I’m probably the main offender. I asked about this earlier but no one responded so I figured it was ok. I’ll go back later and edit my posts to make it easier on you.

EDIT: I just noticed after posting my pic that LCDs/LEDs are totally incapable of making sand look like the color of sand.  Look how pee-colored y'alls deserts are on world 2! 😛

I like my pee colored sand! 😄 I'm playing through an older el gato and it dims the screen a bit so I have to kick up the brightness, otherwise it looks fine.

  13. Well, since I didn't join VGS Survivor this season due to a vacation I'll be taking next month, figure I'll participate in the weekly and hone my skills. First run, didn't die but far from Krunch's score. Gonna try to squeeze some more points out of it.
