Finally got a minty enough OTT. So got that and it went straight into a new acrylic case next to Chrono trigger, fitting for the best game of all time to sit next to second place. Still looking for Majoras Mask. Absolute Supercars is quite uncommon to see, been on my watchlist for years finally got a nice uk copy. 3 more sachen carts, only need 2 more for the full 9 multigame cart set for gameboy. Found some sealed sports games and seller had some other ones in minty condition so I got them. People like to downtalk sports games but I know im gonna regret it if I dont get some of these now, its already hard to find them in the condition I want, especially because they often have that specific sticker on the case that is "impossible" to move so you cant replace the cases, a ding in the case and I cant buy it, on top of everything else being nice. Overall pretty decent

I liked the Wii. I still do. It was a huge financial success for Nintendo. But it is no doubt the point where Nintendo took a massive hit in the collective cultural mindshare. I was in middle school and high school when the Wii was a thing. I was a Nintendo kid. Prior to the Wii, so were a lot of other people. But as someone else mentioned here, if you’re a teenager/young adult, which would you rather play? Outside of Nintendo’s sweet first party stuff, you had what, Boom Blox? Then on the other side there was Red Dead, Dark Souls, Halo, God of War, Call of Duty (proper), Skyrim, BioShock, Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, etc.? These games were gaming at the time. Not Nintendo. As a high schooler I thought the Wii was fun but it was a hard sell against playing the aforementioned games with all of my friends. I spent a large portion of that era defending Nintendo against people who said they were “garbage now.” (And then the Wii U came out and I’ve been a bit more sour on Nintendo since, but that’s a discussion for a different thread).
Whether us old people want to admit it or not, Nintendo isn’t as popular with the younger generations as they were when we were kids. No I’m not saying they’re shit now and that everyone hates them, but they’re not king in peoples’ minds like they used to be. And I really believe we have this era to blame for that downfall.
This is true. I didnt know anyone who bought a wii before 360/ps3

The Wii will always be a very important console, it really brought gaming to places you didnt see it before. It was a revolution and the sales numbers reflect that. I did not go hard at the wii but I have almost all the games I want for it, and there is a lot of good titles on it. Since im not searching for any Wii stuff I dont know how the prices are doing. But I remember some games being harder to find even back then here like Shadows tale, Sakura Wars, Ju On, Metroid Prime trilogy. With such a vast library there are many hidden gems, I expect them to go up in value and popularity( might already have happened)

Great pickups. Pro Yakyuu King 2 isn’t too hard to find cart only but CIB is a pain. I think that and Mario no Photopi are probably the hardest to find CIB for the Japanese N64.
it depends onn a lot of things I guess. That was one of the first I bought cause it just looked so cool

A few long time saved searches here. Crash Time 2 I had almost given up on and have been kicking myself for years because I passed up a somewhat beat up copy5-6 years ago. Super happy to finally get it and complete the series on 360. Gray Matter is a weird one, I never saw this around when it came out so not the most common to see, I bought it from some freak in sweden. Another problem with a lot of thses weird games is that they got spanish etc releases that clogs up the searches. Pretty nice getting Megaman 6 outside ebay since it was not released here. The rest of the nes games are SCN. Pro Yakyuu King 2 on n64 is one I never see a lot of copies of and there was no way im paying what cib costs so yeah another one that FINALLY was posted cart only in good condition.

Been doing my best to actually focus on n64 lately. Aidyn Chronicles is probably the most I have paid for a single n64 game at about 200 buckaroos. About 15 games away from the cmplete JAP exclusive set but I need to look more into my list when im a bit closer

Its hard to find nice copies but im at 154 now. Had a ps2 back then
-
I forgot there were 3 agarest games n ps3 so never picked this one up. We didnt get those n64 games here but I remember playing Spiderman on ps1 and loving it. I have accepted that gameboy games have become stupid expensive cib so im going too pick up SCN games if I see nice carts. And that 4B-008

I'm going to put this out there that it's not insane to have representation of all kinds of people in media. ESPECIALY fiction like fantasy. I'm not sure what's so insane to have our fiction to reflect what our world is. Now granted I'm sure some people live in worlds surrounded by lack of diversity. Some of it may very well be suppressed when it's possible like going along with a gender role you don't identify with or what your true sexual preferences are. In which case I can totally see why you think diversity is being crammed down your throat. But if you live in a decent sized city in America then diversity is around you. Some cities more than others. And since the majority of people in America live in cities it shouldn't be so surprising that diversity becoming more common. Hell, even in rural areas you'll find LGBT people because that is just a random thing that happens and unlike what race a person will be.
Living the majority of my life in a ~50/50 (white/non-white) community I don't think about how many non-white actors are in a show like The Expanse. I will say that sexual orientation does stand out whenever I see it because I'm not nearly as exposed to it like I am with race. I have few friends who are LGB but it just doesn't standout like someone's race. Not like when I see them they constantly express their sexuality in my face I'm sure one day I won't pay it any attention because I've seen so many shows/movies that have LGB character. I mean I'm started to get there with video games with the main character being female. And I think that is a good thing. But I also think diversity is a good thing so I am biased with that aspect. In fact I actively seek it out because it makes me feel comfortable. The first week of college I had this weird feeling being around a crowds of people. I took a while before I realize it was because I've never been surrounded by so many white people with no POC. I remember my high school saying this would likely happen. Funny thing is they said that to the POC students and not white students who grew up in POC neighborhoods. Ohio is majority white so go figure Ohio State University is also majority white.
Long story short, if you think diversity is "crammed" in media then ask yourself if you are in a homogeneous bubble. Maybe that's why you think it's "over representation". And that's not a dig on you. Diversity isn't usually a choice you have control over. If you live in a city in America you'll have a hard time avoiding it. If you live in a rural mid-west farming community you'll be hard pressed to find diversity.
I agree with most of what you say and i dont think ppl care what race/sexuality characters are. Peple dont whine about the existence of Batwoman. The problem is changing already established characters, like making 007 a female. Nobdy cares if an agent in some action movie is female. But 007 is an established character for 80(?) years, its obviously just to push an agenda and ppl will call that out. Just make some new characters and if they are well written they will succeed

...that being said, I haven't seen the show, I don't know when I'll watch the show, I like the original but don't place it on a pedestal or anything. But there seems to be a very clear trend in nerd culture in the last 10 years to vilify things, and I always find it comically overblown.
Well it cant be denied that all kinds of woke bs is crammed into certain movies and series. Peple are not vilifying Ghostbusters 2016, its just a trash movie, and thats ok to say. No Time to Die was good, but would have been better without the woke bs they just had to put in, didnt that nutjob try calling bond a rapist. I dont think these overpaid idiots deserve to be defended, when they are in fact trying to ruin franchises peple love. Whats cmical is they think that just because its a popular franchise the fans will loove anything with the name on it. When you change everything its no longer what people loved and the reviews from fans will reflect that. Its not the nerds fault giant corprations use their franchises to push an insane agenta etc

Oh yeah, that is the standard for modding consoles these days. The h-shop has what you need. There are Google drives that are public that have entire libraries you can dig up pretty easily. I don't know about PS3 or PS4 though, just that the PS3 was notoriously hard to hack.
I saw something abut ppl backing up ps3 dlc and updates years ago so im pretty sure ps3 stuff is gnna be safe i the futue. ps4 probably not, just the size of all those updates how could anyone keep all that

I always try to make sure I dont have any packages coming in the last half of december, tons of packages and more get damaged/lost. I should get my last ones this week, picking up 2 tomorrow. Maybe that crazy stuff starts earlier where you live, its already beginning to be longer lines to get the packages etc

If we keep it simple (or not, any metric should show Mickey as more well-known), Disney's net worth is $130b, while Nintendo's is only $85b. Obviously both encompass more than their direct media (i.e. not every Disney output is Mickey, not every Nintendo output is Mario), but they're the key icons of their respective businesses and Disney has a more than 50% increase in value compared to Nintendo.
Show the entire world these two head profiles and most will recognize Mickey, Mario not so much:
All you show is that Mickey was bigger in old ass black/white cartoons. He cant touch Mario, a true ICON

I'm sure Mickey is widely known from young kids to adults. Mickey is a staple of the zeitgeist of the past 100 years. The appreciation and affection for may not be any where as close to Mario, but he is a huge staple to the background of our global culture.
I know kids might see him differently, but Disney seems to always have some form of Mickey IP currently available. There was Clubhouse Mickey which I guess was popular from around 2005-2015 or so. Now there's the new/vintage look to Mickey and his friends in cartoons, I think. I've never seen the show but I've definitely seen the updated Mickey look.
He might not be loved like Mario, but he's definitely pervasive and has been for nearly every generation for almost 100 years. That's hard to beat. If Mario hasn't, I'm sure he will in 20 years, tops, but I imagine they are close in popularity. Especially in Japan where they supposedly have a stronger relationship with Disney brands that maybe even we American's do.
Mickey fanboys are all dead or locked up in some institution by now, Mario is the new king

With all the Repro talk Im surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention the CIB definition. The call it Complete In Box while basically using the Cart Instructions Box version of the definition. I’ve always considered it Cart, Ins, Box myself, but if your one to go with Complete In Box then there definition is flawed as it doesn’t include the inserts and other stuff
Another failure expsed! Mickey Mouse company

That's funny: I only own four N64 games, and it's the top four on this list. This console's library is so strange for having such incredible AAA all-time greats at the top, followed by mountains and mountains of crap!
Dont disrespect the best system ever like that

Xbox 360 rarest NTSC regular, non limited edition games?
in General Collecting Discussion
Posted
360 collecting is still all over the place and very few titles are really established as rare. Some random sports titles usually. It seems whenever a game goes up a lot more are listed. What you should be focusing on are those good uncommon games that just keep going up in price like several mentioned here. Operation Darkness went for around 50 bucks when I made the saved search but when I bought it recently it was like 100. Culdcept Saga as mentioned. Im currently looking for the Raiden games and the 2 Konami Classics. Maybe look into the Gundam games
