  1. Jak and Daxter The Precursor Legacy. I didn't care for any of the sequels which makes sense considering the guys behind the Crash Bandicoot series also made J&D Precursor Legacy. They jumped ship from the company after PL came out.

The Witcher III - I actually knew about Witcher before many people did because I randomly picked up the first game on PC (enhanced directors cut edition) shortly after it came out. I was a PS fan so didn't even know about Witcher II until after III came out. Witcher III turned out to be one of the top 15 games I've played in the past 10 years.

  2. I've never played a "Souls" game before in my life because I always heard they were just tough boss fights which didn't interest me. I ended up buying Elden Ring because of the hype to be honest. At first without knowing anything or looking at 1 Youtube video, I didn't like it. I thought it was too vague, not a lot of direct clues telling you where to go and I felt weak. Fast forward to present and I think it's one of the best video games I've ever played in recent memory! It kind of re-invigorated my love for immersive, challenging single player focused games.

I have no shame in admitting I use Youtube as a guide. I find the locations of specific armor pieces, spells, incantations, summons, ashes of war, bell bearings, stones, boss fights, talisman, tears for physicks, etc. Then I plan an entire gaming session going on the adventure for (insert goal here).

There's so much to this game it's impossible to fit into one post. For example I recently discovered how useful Margit's Shackle can be. It does random things like showing you any secret door in your nearby area, disabling certain dungeon traps, opening random pits in caves, use multiple times outside certain boss fogs before going in to make them stand still so you can cast things like poison mist and slowly kill them in cheese fashion, etc.

I love this game! 9.5/10 because I just wish the story was a little deeper and stronger. I also don't like how you can't bring back certain NPCs (which then can cancel you out of certain quests & access to certain items).

Are you saying Livin on the Edge wasn't a hit?  That was the lead single off of Get a Grip.

Sorry for the confusion. You're right that it was indeed a hit. That's actually one of their best songs IMO. I don't own Get a Grip so I always associated Big Ones with Livin' On the Edge because it's the only 90s Aerosmith I have besides Nine Lives. My favorite album of theirs is probably Rocks.

  5. My thing with Van Halen is that none of their albums are start to finish good. A good song here, a good song there, skip this, skip that, good song again, skip again kind of thing. As a band I give them a 7 or 7.5 but Eddie Van Valen as a guitar player I'd give a 9 out of 10. I only wish he would've done some solo albums kind of like Satriani/Vai kind of stuff and ventured outside of the rock box/band thing.

  6. I can't pick just one so here's a few I was debating between.

    Life Is Strange

    The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

    Mass Effect 2

    Age of Empires II

    Bioshock

    Super Mario World

    Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

    Beyond Two Souls

    Crash Bandicoot 2

    Horizon Zero Dawn

    The Witcher III

    Red Dead Redemption 2

    LA Noire

    Final Fantasy VII

    Final Fantasy X

    Ghost of Tsushima

    Donkey Kong Country

    Goldeneye 007

    Any Mario Kart

  7. I recently finished the show Dark on Netflix and it was excellent! One of the best sci-fi shows I've seen in a long time. I highly suggest keeping the original German audio and watching with subtitles. It's slightly confusing at first and you have to pay attention but it's worth it. I felt like they could've had 1 or 2 more seasons but they managed to tell a pretty incredible story in just 3. I don't want to spoil anything but if you like time travel this show is for you!

    10 out of 10 show

  8. DKR had more vehicles but they rarely gave you any substantial advantage over other vehicle types for the same race. MKart 64 had better level design and better music in my opinion. For years me and a small group of friends would get together and have MKart 64 tournaments because we overall found it superior to DKR. I'm not saying DKR is bad because it's easily the 2nd best racer on N64 in my opinion followed by the Cruis'N series, Beetle Adventure, and Mickey Speedway.
