  1. Ok, here are the end labels and manuals I'm missing. End labels I'm being detailed, manuals, go to each game and see what the description of the missing manual. It's possible that the designation letter of the manual might change as I try and keep all releases in order with cartridges, manuals and boxes. I do recommend when comparing what you have in hand to what is on my site to closely look at font (normal/italics/size), ® = registered and ™ = trademark location, color, and size along with any placement of the printed letters. If you look at Choplifter end label b compared to c & d, you'll see a difference.

There are also some differences with Made in China CX78** in normal font and bold font. I believe the normal font may be PAL releases, but cannot confirm that. So look for the most subtle of differences. I may not always list the difference, or may combine it in the description, but if I feel it should be distinct, I'll put it.

    End Labels needed:

    Choplifter 1987 Taiwan

    Crack'ed 1988 Hong Kong

Dig Dug 1987 Hong Kong only italics, 1987 Taiwan

Food Fight 1987 China, 1988 Hong Kong

Galaga 1987 Hong Kong only italics

    Jinks 1989 Hong Kong

Joust 1987 China, 1988 Hong Kong

    Karateka 1987 Taiwan

    Mario Bros. 1988 China

    Ms. Pac-Man 1988 Hong Kong

One on One 1987 Taiwan, 1988 Hong Kong

    Pole Position II 1988 China

Tower Toppler 1988 China not bold

Xevious 1987 Hong Kong only italics

    Manuals:

    Ace of Aces Man A

    Asteroids Man C & D

    Ballblazer Man D

    Choplifter Man A, C, D & E

    Commando Man C

    Crossbow Man B & C

    Dig Dug Man A & E

    Donkey Kong Man B

    Donkey Kong Jr Man B

    Food Fight Man A & C

    Hat Trick Man B

    Ikari Warriors Man B

    Impossible Mission Man B

    Jinks Man B & C

    Karateka Man A, B, C & D

    Mario Bros. Man B

    Mean 18 Golf Man C

    Motor Psycho Man B

    Ms. Pac-Man Man C, D & F

    One on One Man A, B & D

    Planet Smashers Man C

    Pole Position II Man A, B, E, F & J

    Robotron Man A & D

    Super Huey Man B, C & D

    Touchdown FB B & C

    Tower Toppler D

    Xevious D & E

  2. Thanks. I'l fix that later one. I'm complete now with everything I have in my possession and in my database. I should later tonight upload the pdf file for everyone to view that contains everything including explanations of how each item is described. I'll also try and put up the list of missing items, should mostly be manuals. If I can, I'll list end labels missing. I missed my target by a week, which I'm happy I got it done that fast.

As I've mentioned before, if you have something I don't have documented, or you own something I'm missing scans of, please get them to me. If I own scans of items that look crappy due to getting whatever I can, and you can replace them with better scans, also please get them to me. I'm here for proof, but it's great to have nice visuals to see.

Thanks to everyone who has helped. I'm sure there are variations out there not on the list. I'll try and keep up with it the best I can, but I'm sure it's pretty comprehensive.

Might be?   Easiest way is to check ebay auctions; there's tons of those still sealed.

Trust me, I checked everything on Ebay. Cannot find a difference at all. Even all the completed listings too. I pretty much have everything done. Just waiting on throwing in a few scans I'm missing, so I haven't uploaded those pages yet. If you have anything I'm missing, or scans I don't have, feel free to help out. 🙂

    Thanks.

  4. Just added up to One on One Basketball and filled in a couple of others so everything is finished up until this point. I have all scans I believe up until Super Huey, so I'll get all that done in the next few days. If you've sent me any scans, I'll get to those after I complete the list. Seems like the end is getting more time consuming.

When i'm done, I'll make a list here of all items I need scans of. I believe that should almost be exclusively manuals, but I'll double check everything. I do need some end labels, but I usually don't list those. If there aren't too many, I may though. Thanks.

Regarding the Karateka 1988 Hong Kong cart.  This one was produced with both end label styles: The "ATARI 7800 ProSystem" label you've shown as version c and with the "ATARI 7800" label that was used on the '87 cart (your version b).  Seems they changed the end label sometime during 1988.

Thanks for pointing this out. I just looked at my CIB copy and sure enough, it's the one you said. I'm adding it now. They seem to be about even so I'm calling it C(ommon) also.

  6. The weekend saw some great progress. I have 2 games with box variations missing, I'm waiting on a few scans and should have those complete by Tuesday or Wednesday. Everything else is done through Motor Psycho (waiting on the end label of cartridge b for this, but it's done otherwise). Tomorrow I plan on doing Ms. Pac-Man. This game has 5 cartridge variations, 6 manuals and 6 boxes. Talk about fun. I'm waiting on more titles after that, but I have a few scattered later on that I have all the scans of, so you may see some games completed out of order. I'm hoping by the end of next weekend to have this completed. We'll see. Didn't miss my target date by too much. Thanks.

  7. Thanks for helping. I do a lot of copy/paste, so errors may occur if I forget to change a product number. I corrected the Ace of Aces manual listings.

The spring circuit board protector I call CART2 and no cb protector is CART3. There are no CART1 7800 games to my knowledge, which is the locking cb protector that the 2600 has, which is the basis of my format for the 7800. I believe all 1986 Taiwan are CART2. I may have overlooked that one. If I'm unsure, I think I defaulted to CART3 in the beginning, but should change all unknown to CART2? until I can verify it.

As for your 87 Hong Kong Centipede, I'd have to see it to compare. Pretty much everything I'm getting is from the internet, so I can only go on what I see. Eventually I'll get to my stock of loose 7800 carts to do comparison with what I have.

By the way, the .pdf file of the entire list of variations will be uploaded when I'm finished with all the variations I have. I haven't uploaded it yet because it's constantly changing and I'm adding and fixing errors. All the definitions and descriptions of the entries will be explained. If you want to see a more detailed version of the 2600 .pdf, here you can get it. Though I need to update that too. The 7800 will have several differences and not be as detailed. It's the first link at the top of the page.

  8. Just to give you an update. I'm moving along and doing well. Some of the scans may be subpar due to the fact I can only get pictures of damaged items or the angles are such that when fixed may look a bit blurry or distorted. If you see any holes in my chart, it's just that I'm waiting on fixed scans from another person and those will be done soon. I should be done through Food Fight within a few days. Even while uploading these pages and such, I continue to come across variations not on my list. If you see the games in the chart clickable, that means I have exhausted my research on that title. If you have items not on the list, please contact me with scans and i'll add them. Thanks.

This is so cool!  The 7800 is one of the few consoles I still don't own and I've never come across one locally for sale.  Thanks for sharing!

Hope you find one. The benefit of the 7800 is that I believe almost all 2600 games should play on it. After I'm done with this, I'm moving on the 5200. It seems there may be pretty much no variations with the 5200. I'll have to do research on that.

  10. If anyone is familiar with my website of variations for the Atari 2600, I have been working on the Atari 7800. Here is the main link to the 7800 page. All 3rd party software is finished to the best of my knowledge. I am working on the Atari page now. To make this quick, I've been posting on Atari Age for about a month now saying I was going to do this project. The thread is under Atari 7800 (if you need a link let me know.) It's a little bit tougher than I thought. My target date is the end of this month. If anyone is looking at all my variations and either own one I'm missing or can get me better scans, please send them to pdispenza@verizon.net. I am doing all variations for cartridges, manuals and boxes. Looking at the lists in this thread, I see cartridge variations that are missing. I am including PAL variations as I always do. Please read my head paragraphs for info. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me here or through my email. I thank you for any help I can get. I'd like to get this as accurate as possible.
