  2. Did anyone else pre-order the Star Wars games that were carded like the old toys?  I picked up a few for Christmas presents and its not looking good.  Originally supposed to ship in October, then Dec and now they are saying January.  Is this a normal thing for LRG?

  3. Very cool story - and I would definitely hang on to the bag and receipt so you can include that with the game whenever you sell it.   I agree with others that it doesn't add a lot of value to the game itself, but I think having that proof of provenance never hurts and could give it an edge over comparable examples imo.   I hope you do well with it at WATA.

RH - this reminds me of my Leonardo TMNT figure I have.  My Grandmother bought it for me for my birthday and (knowing that I already had one opened to play with) bought me a second one unopened.  Stapled the receipt to the bag, put a handwritten note on the top and sealed it Hills Department store bag.  That's a prized possession for me. 😍

    Babbage's... brings back memories.

If WATA grades the wrap separately, what detracts from disc based cases, insert alignment?  I may be wrong, but it seems like there would be less variability with the hard cases versus boxed games.

The only thing I've noticed with PS2/GC style cases are dimples, writing marks,  and deep scratch marks that affect the case itself through the cello.  It is way more common than I initially thought it would be when you angle the games in light.  Also, I know with PS1 jewel cases in particular, the manual itself is a big factor in determining higher grades.  There are spine creases and ticks on the manual taken into consideration as well as the prongs on the right side of the jewel case that cause divet marks on the right edge of the manual.  These are the factors that separate a 9.2 perfect jewel case from a 9.6/9.8 perfect jewel case.

I’ve been saying for years that the NES has three true “holy grails” of sealed collecting.

Bronty’s Sticker Mario (or the other gloss seal that I had no idea existed until yesterday)

A First Print Zelda (No REV-A, with TM after the NES logo instead of (R)

and a first print Mega Man...that is to say it has the Captain Commando Sticker AND the Dr. Wright typo on the back of the box.

...you can probably throw white dot Mike Tyson’s up there now. Honestly that’s a variant I didn’t know about until earlier this year...but new big money gets to decide what’s worth new big money.

Is there a confirmed white bullet tyson?  I'd put Castlevania Hangtab up there as well. That's on par with Mega Man Dr Wright imo and  MTPO, at least imo.  I feel like a white bullets tyson in comparable condition would blow the Mega Man away in price.

That's awesome.  I collect GPK too but I started collecting in my adulthood a little too early for my own good when these were really cheap.  They were cheap enough at the time that I was buying them so I could  relive my childhood memories of opening packs.   So I actually bought unopened boxes from each series and cracked those bad boys open.  I still have the cards, I put them into binders and made sets.  But I would have been better off just putting them away in hindsight.  Especially series 1.    I also had an uncut sheet and pinned it up on my wall and honestly, that kind of makes me sick today.  It was a ton of fun so no major regrets.  The condition on your boxes  looks really nice and the set is killer, congrats.

Just finished getting 100% on Link's Awakening Switch this weekend. Dampe's Dungeons are a pain because it's just not that fun. Rest of the game was great though.

Right now I'm finishing up my first (Blue Lions) playthrough of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, 2 chapters left. I plan on trying to beat the original Castlevania this weekend, and then starting Luigi's Mansion 3 on Oct 31.

I'm very much looking forward to Luigi's Mansion 3.  Currently splitting time between Link's Awakening (Switch) and Monster Boy (Switch).
