CodysGameRoom | 2,008
Hi all, I recently got an Athletic World box in a lot and I think it's fake. The inside is not the usual "inside of an NES box" look, but it's white. Also the bottom of the box is a regular fold, not the NES style box bottom. I think it's probably a fake, but I saw a few on eBay, one with a similar box, and it doesn't say anything about a fake box. Does anyone know?
SilverspoonGaming | 332
I just went to grab mine and check it, but then I realized that its sealed... I noticed that you have the code on the flap, which I would think would be skipped over if someone made a fake.

DoctorEncore | 3,690
It is definitely legit. It is the only type of NES box made from this material and with top and bottom flaps. You'll notice that the cardboard is actually much thicker than knock-offs or late LJN/Acclaim games. The white cardboard inside is also shinier than you'll find in other white boxes. It's probably one of the coolest variants for the NES since it's such an oddball.
