Around 2.9 million Texans remained without power overnight on Tuesday I've definitely had my fair share of power outages in absolutely freezing weather, so I know how that feels. Hopefully that situation will be resolved sooner rather than later.

Kguillemette | 1,543
Being a New Englander, I take for granted how well adapted both myself and my State(NH) are at dealing with extreme weather fluxuations. I've dealt with stretches of over 100 for weeks on end, and also stretches of under -10. I continue to hope and pray that this endless blame deflecting is put aside and we can put our focus on fixing problems at hand. Regardless of blame, the most recent cold snap that went through the Midwest and pushed south has exposed how entirely unprepared we are at dealing with such drastic weather changes. Temperature alone shouldn't be resulting in natural disasters.

Texas is unprepared because their leadership (guess which side) ignored a 2011 fema report warning about this very thing, and took no action to winterize their energy supplies and production. And now that its happened, deregulated energy producers shut down down rather than paying spiking gas prices, until they were given free pass to gouge their customers for it. They are blaming windmills for this, despite renewable energy overperforming since this started.

If it is any consolation to you... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_elections_in_Texas It would appear that voters in TX bit by bit are starting to agree with you. It seems that statewide elections in TX are less red every 4 years.

The irony is that, at least with the talk radio guys, they spend more time talking about how great Rush is/was than they did about much of anything else, in order to connect with his typical crowd. With him dead, they've lost half of their on-air material. Then again, Rush Limbaugh spend a solid 1/3 of his on-air time, at least, talking about himself anyway, so maybe that is a wash.

Greg Abbott, a Republican, blamed ERCOT on Tuesday, saying the utility "has been anything but reliable over the past 48 hours.” He then appeared on cable news that evening to argue that the fiasco is due to green energy, specifically frozen wind turbines... “As a veteran and a person who has lived in a Third World country, this is a huge failure of the government overall,” Martinez said. “In Texas, they worry more about guns and about passing silly legislation than [people]. Climate change is a real thing and it’s smacking us in the face.” Edited February 18, 2021 by avatar!
