RegularGuyGamer | 2,012
I wanted to make a topic to log my game room progress. I just rearrange some of the shelves. My basement is a work in progress so I figured I could have a little thread going as I update it throughout the year. 4/10 shelves organized

RegularGuyGamer | 2,012
I finally got the game station re arranged and consolidated. I took a lot of time to make sure the wiring was clean and orderly. All the Svideo console inputs are Velcroed together and their power cords are Velcroed together as well, along with the same procedure for the HD consoles. I got 10 plug outlet that is used for DJ equipment that's pretty fancy. It even has a light that can be switched on to see what's going on which is super helpful. All the consoles can be turn on separately from the sound system with one flip of a switch. The speakers and sound system are finally integrated into the station. They're hooked into the TV audio out. The nice thing is the TV outputs sound whether the speakers are on or not so I don't have to use them all the time. It's a truly amazing experience to hear a MegaMan sound track come through a nice stereo.
RegularGuyGamer | 2,012
Here they so are! I put my college notes and books on the bottom left and what was left over from my great aunts book collection on the bottom right. Above that ok both shelves are the DVD and Blu Ray collection. Overall I'm happy with how the relocation turned out. The shelves are so massive it turned out to be tricky navigating all the open space. They're about 7 feet fall since they go from the floor to the ceiling and about 18 inches deep. The heights can be adjusted but I only have so many shelf pieces so I can't really benefit from making shorter shelves. However, it's cozy and organized. The only downside is that I kind of dread getting more games bc I'm at peak capacity already lol. Maybe I should do another built in Here's on of the best accent pieces I've found over the years. A VHS of our poorly filmed and barely edited family movies titles family movies. I think it really tires the room together. I kept most of my cib stuff in my office to try to keep the theme focused on the gaming and less about high dollar items. It also helps when I have company over I don't have to worry about them dropping a box since most of the stuff displayed is under $50 each minus some of the Saturn games. 23 minutes ago, drxandy said: Toshiba af hollaaa Haha hell yeah man! It's a beast and had 480 output so the next gen consoles look great on it too.
drxandy | 3,225
Yasss I love my 20af!! component and s video look so dang crisp, I was surprised how good s video could look for the 64 and cube.
RegularGuyGamer | 2,012
Toshiba gang in the house! lol I was shocked with how good Svideo looked when I first started using the TV. I switched all the console output to Svideo now except the NES (of course). I remember my friend got the same, or really similar, Toshiba from saving up bagging groceries. I was all blown away by the picture and the flat screen. The upgrade from the old CRT with the knob to change the channel and RF being the only input was insane.
The Count | 526
@RegularGuyGamer The paneling is perfect. Dig that old Singer TV, too.
RegularGuyGamer | 2,012
I managed to get a nice picture of the whole built-in selves. There's a pillar for support that makes it tough to get s picture from any further out. I also forgot to show the contents of the shelves on the entertainment center. On right left I made it so the drawer comes off the expose the original Xbox. The drawer to the right holds commonly used controllers and my wife's childhood SNES collection. She has quiet the taste in games Edited August 17, 2020 by RegularGuyGamer
LeatherRebel5150 | 1,056
This thread is a little old but I have to ask @RegularGuyGamer did you put that wood paneling up? I have the exact same thing at my dad's house where I grew up and he started to redo some of the house and got rid of alot of it. If you put it in yourself do you know the name of it/where you got it from?
RegularGuyGamer | 2,012
I came with the house when it was built, I believe. It's my great aunts house and she helped raised me as a kid so from as far back as I can remember it's been here. It was built in '84. We were actually thinking of painting it. I do know they is still paneling at our local builders supply store. I love it though. It's such a sign of the times.
RegularGuyGamer | 2,012
So we finally settled in a couch and it only took 4 months to arrive which means our old sectional made it's way down to the basement. With that, the game room is really starting to take shape. I decided to divide the room into two parts. The one with the sectional has the fireplace, tv and workout stuff and then behind the sectional is the game room. It's a really great feeling having the room come together. I've really enjoyed the past couple days since setting every up, especially since most of the display pieces are in my office. It makes all the games on these shelves focused on games I want to pull off and play. 7
