A good trick if you're having trouble with timing is to turn your back to the enemy first. If you pull it off, you will still hit them and won't jump kick them by accident. Probably a third or more of the enemies take the same amount of hits with the uppercut as they do with the cyclone kick, so that makes getting a max score a little easier. He can even sit a week out without Skinny being able to reach him even if he wins the contest that week.
