Thanks to the information by the community and work put in by  @diddles_mcbean who originally ran the list.

Let's keep this going. This information is outdated, so if you see any missing stores, errors or just want to report store closings, post in here and I will update as soon as I get a chance!

The formatting is a little wonky and I was working on adding hyperlinks to each store, so please pardon the dust while this list gets worked on over time.

I hope people find this list useful and continue to provide any information to keep this list current and accurate. Thank you!

Arkansas

Game Room Trading Post no longer exists.

Game Exchange has taken over the state. The locations I know of and have personally been to: Rogers, Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville, Conway, Little Rock, North Little Rock, Benton, Russellville. There are probably more I haven't been to!

Game Point - Conway

Blast from the Past Gaming / That Geeky Shop (Same store.. I think name recently changed to 'That Geeky Shop') - Harrison

I live near Hickory, NC.  Two other locations, both really awesome places:

Infinity Games

http://infinitygaminghickory.com/

1752 Startown Rd

Hickory, NC 28602

Game Swap

https://www.facebook.com/GameSwap-New-Retro-Video-Game-Superstore-224151834363255/

112 NE Court Square

Lincolnton, NC 28092

If you are ever driving down I-40 and want to spend half a day hitting some really awesome game shops, these two places, plus the other two in Hickory on the list (Red Fox and The Game Father) are places to go.  They are all really packed, and each one has their own personality.  If you are looking for an arcade unit, Game Swap in Lincolnton is down south on 321, until you get to Lincolnton (about 15 miles from Hickory) but it's worth the drive.  It's possibly the biggest shop and had the most diverse stuff.  It's in an old store and has an old store feel.

Red Fox isn't a chain but has a chain feel.  I really like the guys there and I think they are the most fun to chat with and hang out with.  The deals there are fair, especially when they run sells.

Game Father is in a mall.  I feel they seem to price there games at rates they feel they can get locally.  You can find really good deals... beside stuff that seems WAY over priced.  I've not figure that place out yet, but it feels like an old skool Game Stop that's 100% dedicated to used and vintage games.

Infinity Games it the back end of a pawn shop.  Infinity is another great place because it's part store, almost part museum.  You can tell that the guy that runs the place not only buys and sells games but really, really loves to collect. He has an entire room of consoles for sale and a bunch of them are rare and unique variants, all on display in cases that are well lit and just look awesome.  It's a kind of cramped place, though, because their inventory is spread out across 3x office-sized rooms and lines the hallways.

On the one hand, I kind of hate that everyone around hear is so rabid about retro games because that means I almost never find anything at thrift shops and yard sales.  But the flipside to that is that this rural area of NC can support 4, fully stocked vintage gaming shops.  There is also a 5th in Newton, but I can't remember their name.  They are more of a comic book/collectible shop and they have one case that sometimes has games in it.  I found a Super Scope there, which was cool, and a few games but they didn't have much.  Still, they advertise themselves as a video game store, so maybe their inventory comes and goes.

Some updates to the Massachusetts section:

  • Get rid of Family Treasure Chest Resale and Khristina's Closet, those stores have been closed for years.
  • E&L Collectibles has been closed for at least two years now as well.
  • Game Underground moved yet again, they are now located in Waltham.

Arizona:

House of Used has 2 locations in Mesa.

Tucson is spelled wrong a few times in the list. I take personal offense.

Fallout Games has a new Mesa location.

I'll have to do some more footwork to see if any of those in the list have closed up, but most of them are still there. There are TONS of places to pick up used games in the valley, so obviously there are enough local enthusiasts to keep them all in business. Yet I feel like the only AZ person on NA/VGS. Where is everyone? Make an account! I should post VGS fliers at all those shops...

Not directly related but if you pop into Video Game World in Huntersville, NC on the right day, you might bump into Try from MLIG. I know he lives near there and I've noticed footage from their videos in there.  I even asked him about it, and he confirmed.

A few for the Tennessee section:

Game Galaxy Arcade also has a location inside of Rivergate Mall in Madison, Tennessee.

Gamexchange has multiple locations across the state, off the top of my head I can name Clarksville, Cookeville, McMinnville, but I’m sure there are a few more.

Oddball Media in Clarksville, TN deals the most in vinyl and CDs but they’ve got a good selection of retro games too and advertise that they buy and sell them.

The Great Escape also has a Murfreesboro location.

Packards in Oak Ridge, TN was absorbed into/bought by Secret City Exchange, formerly known as McGuire Books.

Game Haven in Cookeville, East Knoxville, and Maryville is closed permanently.

**EDIT** Here are a few more around the country I can add:

In Morgantown, West Virginia there is a nice store called Cartridges Galore Video Games.

In Huntingdon, Pennsylvania there is a small little thrift store named Mary’s Bargains owned by a sweet lady who has a surprisingly large section of video games in her store. Some modern, some retro. Good prices.

Here in NC, Video Game World has a second store located in Concord. In addition, here in Hickory there's a small store I use to work for called Infinity Gaming.

I just wrote about Infinity this morning (scroll up a bit to check it out!)

You live in Hickory?! I’m down in Maiden!
