  1. At least he can rest easy knowing his wife's killer is finally dead.
  2. Are these for sale by any chance? I'm really interested in them as a lot deal. The NFR's are believed to be copies that Nintendo of America employees can purchase from the Nintendo employee store. They're usually stuff that comes off the factory line as "scratch and dent" stuff, meaning they weren't perfect samples, or just didn't pass QC 100% but met a certain threshold that was still good enough to sell at a discount to employees. They're cool variants, and I think only first party games and accessories came with them.
  3. Upgraded the bounties! From now on, any new copies are worth $200, new photos of existing copies (ungraded only) are worth $20, and photos of my non-blue listed carts are worth $100.
  4. NEW COPY UNCOVERED. Welcome to the collectors market #0176
  5. Ad hominem. He brings up valid points.
  6. Not mine, but they were posted publicly years ago. I figure it's fair game to post them around.
  7. https://www.ebay.com/usr/nostalgic80 Nice stuff! I think that specific 5-Screw R.C. Pro-Am was the first one ever discovered back in the NA days. Here's a pre-grading photo I have of it.
  8. Thanks, I'll revisit the screw variants and likely end up updating it to a R9. Also, something no one pointed out is why I bothered adding Anticipation, Donkey Kong Classics, Ice Hockey, Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Team Games, and Zelda II to the "Does Not Exist?" category. Those are in there because other 1988 first party titles have been found to have documented 5-Screw variants (R.C. Pro-Am, SMB/DH/WCTM, and the rumored SMB/DH)
  9. This is officially the third 5 screw SMB/DH/WCTM I’ve seen. I NEED one of these in my life so hard.
  10. Pretty sure Rollerblade Racer has the same crappy foam.
  11. @Code Monkey I agree, but to a degree. Extreme errors should be their own little neat category, and well...it *is* the "Rare Variant & Error" thread. Variant guys like me just ignore errors...but there's merit in tracking errors, because if enough of that exact error pop up then it's a legitimate variant (see Atari people with upside down labels, or even Kid Niki SoQ splotch error)
  12. I can confirm that my copy also has this harder, more "crap quality" foam? I mean, it's styrofoam at the end of the day, but something about it just feels of lesser quality.
  13. Dang, I knew I forgot something! Yes...jaws is pretty darn rare. We're also going though a glut of Super Pitfall's for some reason. Maybe it's time to demote it to R7 status (basically ignorable status) Edit: There. I fixed it.
  14. It's a gem rarity of a gem rarity. In my opinion, If 3 Screw Stadium Events is a 5 Carat FL/IF D Quality Diamond, then the 5-screw is a 5 Carat FL/IF D Quality Canary or Pink diamond Edit: Basically, it's not about relativistic rarity anyway. Overall, 5-Screw Stadium Events is just as available as 3-Screw DK Math...less than a handful exist.
  15. Also, in terms of "Look out For" rarity... 5 Screw Rarities Karate Kid X Doesn’t Exist? Side Pocket X Doesn’t Exist? Anticipation X Doesn’t Exist? Donkey Kong Classics X Doesn’t Exist? 16. Also, here's the 3-Screw Gumshoe photos I have. They appear to be two different copies, notice the blurry one doesn't have that smudge to the left of the SoQ, granted it's blurry. *Edit: Found a second photo in my drive, with the rear photo.
  17. I have a much clearer photo of that exact sale, and the other two photos that go with it. It has the same hallmark of all known 3-Screw DK Math being refurbs too (No stamp code on the rear label), so with that said I still don't know why 3-Screw Donkey Kong Jr. Math counts if this cart doesn't.
  18. Castlevania 3 wasn't mine, but I think it was discovered right before NA went down and I never had time to save it. Blades of Steel is in fact based off of the recent sale, and despite the top label being total crap...it seems authentic.
  19. Thanks for the mention @a3quit4s I briefly spoke with Dan Gomen (Wata) and Kenneth Thrower (CGC) about this particular copy and both them and I agree that it doesn't make sense for it to have a sticker. My only theory I can vaguely come up with is that it possibly might be similar to the known games that come with double-stickers. Meaning, it's possible that whatever caused those few known instances to have double stickers, might be what's causing this to have one sticker. Even then, it's a very long shot since the US phased out stickers in Mid to Late-1986 and the earliest copies of Legend of Zelda (which coincidentally is this one) was released over a full year later. It simply makes no sense for it to possibly have a sticker. I don't think there's enough consensus in collector circles to accurately authenticate it. Though, you can probably ask them to just grade it as a TM Zelda since it's a really freaking nice copy.
  20. I've been 20ish away from the 677 NES set for over a year now. I think it was 28 away last year around this time, and currently sitting at 21? Nothing extraordinarely rare on my remaining list except DuckTales 2...but I'm biding my time to get all mint 100% CIBs, since I've decided to upgrade my entire collection to Mint CIB with all inserts. I can literally just BIN everything I need on eBay right now for about $4000 too, and I just see no need to do that. So, my plan is just play it slow and steady. The point isn't to finish the set, it's to have fun along the way.
  21. With all the recent Konami / Ultra 5-Screw developments, I've decided to add the early Konami 5 Screw games to the list. So far, Goonies II and Castlevania are confirmed to have "late label 5-screw" variants. Others need work. Also, I lost the photo I had for Castlevania III 5 Screw, so I'm removing it from the list. 22. Hey now, It would have gone much higher had I bid at the end, but I'm on the hunt for a CIB (or CB to go with my shitty loose manual) Also, unlicensed hasn't "mattered" since like, 2015 for some reason...and this is coming from the dude who might be the worlds second most biggest Sachen fan.

  24. Weird, someone approached me recently about this and came across a sealed "Special Edition" copy marked 0/10 (or was it 0/25?) They wanted to know if it was worth anything, and I said I'd ask @Ferris Bueller but I think he hasn't logged in for a bit.
