NEW COPY UNCOVERED.
Welcome to the collectors market #0176

would you be interested in adding a confidence score 1-100 as far as the number of photos that cart has of it and the picture quality of each image?
so u could go from light green to dark green
I’m 100% confident in all the greens. The only one I’m not confident is the one yellow one that I know is 0026 because of an old NA conversation about it, and that’s it.
Those numbers are bold enough that they’re hard to make reading them difficult.

what would you guess a full label like 149 would .99 auction on ebay for?
Did you manage to get it from that dude? Haha.
Well, ungraded it appears to be an average cart, maybe 6.5-ish condition just from the one photo and that’s not a lot to go off of, but still.
Im feeling it’s $35,000-$40,000 on eBay to be honest, but eBay isn’t the marketplace for NWC anymore.

any pricing data on sales?
Nope, I purposely don’t track sales data and current owners.
I have a strict anonymity policy for all copies of this game, it’s how I managed to get so many photos of them to begin with and I don’t plan on breaking my one rule anytime soon.
Plus, VGPC does a good enough job and the the price on these thing is always “SPOT” meaning, whatever the spendy-est guy says it is that day.

Updated!
NEW BOUNTIES!
$100 - Proof of other undiscovered numbers
$50 - Photo of carts listed in Yellow, Orange, or Red
- #0026
- #0084
- #0122
- #0150
- #0160
- #0182
- #0340
$10 - Any new photo not in my database of a green listed cartridge. Go ahead, make some money at a convention by snapping a photo of a cart there. But there's one rule, only the first person at that event can receive the payout if it's in a display case....I'll count it as unique if you manage to hold it outside of the display cabinet.

The boards are unique to NWC, and the chips seem to be unique.
The DIP switch is hard to reproduce as well...however, I'm sure if you really wanted to find those chips on some other Nintendo product, you can look really hard and find it.

GetTheGreg is the one who told me about it. I'll update the blog post now.

Missing some carts on the list.
i thought this gyromite was the only copy
how is it the same as control deck ? power pad test cart is almost always available for purchase. 200+ copies of the grey NWC and 15 gold?
I think we need 11-20 rarity scores
Competition Cartridges
Nintendo Nintendo World Championships 10 Nintendo Power Nintendo World Championships (Gold) 16 Test Cartridges
Control Deck Test Cartridge 10 Duck Hunt Test Cartridge 20 Gyromite Test Cartridge 20 Joystick Test Cartridge 10 Legend of Zelda Test Cartridge 10 NTF2 System Cartridge 12 NTF2 Test Cartridge 12 Port Test Cartridge 10 Power Pad Test Cartridge 10 List is outdated. I posted a new version in the link at the top.
Scale only goes to "11" but even 10 is a "fake number"

Actually, they're completely different games. Tecmo Cup Soccer Game is the US port of Captain Tsubasa for the Famicom. Tecmo World Cup Soccer is a Famicom/PAL port of the arcade game Tekhan World Cup Soccer. They're two completely separate games with very similar titles...though only one should be on the US list anyway.
I guess you’re right! My mistake there

Good work, but there's lots of stuff to go over in your list. Let's see if I can cover it all.
The following games are Famicom and or PAL Exclusive but are on your list.
- Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa
- Devil World
- Dig Dug I
- Earthbound Beginnings (actually just called Mother)
- Ninja JaJamaru Kun
- Pac-Land
- Rackets & Rivals
- Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (actually called Super Mario Bros. 2 in japan)
- Tecmo World Cup Soccer
- U-Four-Ia
The following games are Unlicensed but are on your list.
- Pac-Mania
The following games are Competition cartridges, but are on your list.
- Nintendo World Championships
- Nintendo Campus Challenge
ALSO You're missing the following games in your list.
- Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (either the Taito version, or Ubisoft version, both of which are completely different games)
- Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt
- Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt / World Class Track Meet
- Super Spike V'Ball / Nintendo World Cup
- Pac-Man (either Tengen, or Namco late re-release)
- Punch-Out!!
There's a couple other minor issues, but they're no bigger than my own errors in the above list. Just naming convention stuff.
thanks @the_wizard_666 and @a3quit4s for grabbing my attention to this.

BOUNTY UPDATE:

Thanks
I'll update the database, my buddy @DefaultGen already DM'd me earlier with photos. I'm really happy to see that people are aware of this thread to keep things updated though.
EDIT: UPDATED to add #0345

I just saw this. I dunno if you saw my DM yet though. I didn't think this list was up so I couldn't check it.
I did and for done reason I can’t reply to it. But, either way I already paid out to someone on Facebook who sent it to me minutes after it surfaced.
The new copy is up there

I have cart # 0287
Thanks for the information, but because of my privacy policy, I do not track any owners of any of these cartridges (past, present, or future)
Edit: Also- for those who care, I re-uploaded the list.
-
I keep forgetting about this.
Someone remind me to remember to fix it...so many inconsistencies and errors.
Maybe...it's time to swallow my pride and just try to do the thing again...

If you're selling it, you can buy it. If it'll be available for free, you can have it for free.....all of it. I'm a collector first and I want to contribute to the community.
A little from column a, and a lot from column b.
I want to make a printed guide to prevent another NA from happening; but I also plan on giving all the data away for free for non-commercial use.
I also want to incentivize and reward people for being a part of the community without having to run a community myself. (That’s a job in itself, right @Gloves?)

I have 400 boxes, 500 manuals and 600 cartridges photographed and categorized which I can contribute.
I'm also documenting cartridge chip dates to try and get an idea of print runs to find out exactly how many runs a game had, at approximately which dates and if it relates to rarity. A game that came out in 1993 with 2 print runs could be more uncommon than a game that came out in 1988 with only one print run.
Awesome! My advice to you would be to save sharing it with me for later.
Im going to be putting cash bounties on photographs for date codes things I don’t have. So you might have some good value sitting in that folder
When it comes to carts, I’m gonna need front, back, and circuit board. Boxes will need just the top right flap, and manuals will need front, back, page 1 & 2, and last page.
My list will be public, so if something isn’t on there then they can claim a bounty without having to wait for me to confirm it or not.
The idea is, I’m gonna be paying for this stuff one way or another, so I might as well draw from the wisdom of the crowd and save some money instead.

Back labels may even be impossible. I believe I have all the games I opened new still, so that helps. @austin532 should have a bunch as well.
It's not impossible, just extremely difficult. Here's a quick sample of ONE game that took me about an hour to research...and I couldn't get enough of a sample size to determine what the back is stamped with on the last variant, and I can't quite make out if it 00 or 08 stamped on the back of the second variant.
Title Packaging Variant (Box / Cart / Manual) Cart Backplate(s) Battle Tank -USA with Poster Offer, Distributed by MEDIAGENIC / -USA / -USA REV-A (01) / REV-A (10) Battle Tank -USA-1 with Poster Offer, Distributed by Electro Brain / -USA / -USA-1 REV-A (00? or 08?) Battle Tank -USA-2 without Poster Offer, No Distributor Listed / -USA-1 / -USA-2 NES-USA/CAN (??) -

R vs TM SoQ seems like it's going to be the biggest pain in the ass. Godspeed.
Back labels are going to be the toughest…
It really hasn’t been done before, and it takes an infinite sample size to be fully accurate. Especially more difficult because the backs can be swapped so easily.
But I’m tired of getting “Does Little Samson have a REV-A back or NES-USA/CAN?” When the only answer I can give with confidence is “Old NA discussions say both I think…”

Lines up with mine.
Don’t take it as scripture though. There’s at least one fictitious entry in my list. I don’t want to post the full list until CGC, and Wata are all settled up.
This kind of info is especially valuable to CGC and I want them to establish their database first before giving up 10 years of work for free
The community can have it for free, but if they want to license out the info for commercial use then I’m all ears.
Also, there are still potential for things I missed, or purposely excluded.
1 hour ago, DoctorEncore said:This is great. I was just contemplating how to finalize my box variant thread since I will need to link to a list of round vs oval seal for competion's sake. Great work.
I’m going to expand it later to separate out variants even further.
Circle, HT, No REV-A / 5 Screw
Circle, No-HT, No REV-A / 5 Screw
Circle, No-HT, No REV-A / 3 Screw
Circle, No-HT, REV-A / 3 Screw
Oval TM, 3 Line Warranty / 3 Screw
Oval TM, 4 Line Warranty / 3 Screw
Oval R, 3 Line Warranty / 3 Screw
Oval R 4 Line Warranty / 3 Screw
Oval R Red box warranty / 3 Screw
For cartridges I’m also going to include back labels and stamp numbers since they seem to matter.
Black boxes and other early first party would also add…
Matte Sticker Seal
Gloss Sticker Seal
No NES-GP
No NES P XX
No TM NES Logo
TM NES Logo
R NES Logo
and further for carts it would include Made in Japan, NES-XX-USA.
Anything that doesn’t fit neatly in these categories would be considered a major variant.
This means things as large as FFF: Athletic World, and as small as Roger Clemens’ (R) on SoQ size are unique entries.
Unlicensed is its own thing all together and I’m still working on.

Hey, don't sweat it. I love getting messages like this. Sometimes it randomly leads to more NWCs not on my list.

I...do not! If you find a picture let me know. For now, I'll consider adding it to the "Rumored" list on my PC, along with #0345.

I see the list has been taken down so I cannot confirm if you have this one documented yet, but No. 0287 was featured on an episode of Metal Jesus Rocks on YouTube.
Yes, I have that one recorded.
It's actually one of the most heavily documented ones I have!

Upgraded the bounties!
From now on, any new copies are worth $200, new photos of existing copies (ungraded only) are worth $20, and photos of my non-blue listed carts are worth $100.
