  1. As a pioneer in game collecting, I generally don't show off my tops as I don't want to create unnecessary competition for myself from copycat collectors. Therefore, at the moment my top five things (to get rid of) are 1. Xbox 360 games 2. Xbox games 3. Modern Famiclones Ehh, that's only three but it works.
  2. I was just explaining why I assumed it was a random guy clearing out his attic than a collector, hence the difference in expectations. Anyways, if it is a collector, he should know better and we should burn him at the stake for his transgressions. Either way, thanks for the clarification, and I apologize if I came across as antagonistic.
  3. Nice, I just grabbed one of these! Hopefully it'll arrive and the seller won't swap it for a different one.
  4. Turkey rice bento....so delicious! This is likely the best turkey rice shop I've found in my area. The turkey rice in Chiayi is so much better though, as that's where turkey rice originated. The guy who invented instant noodles was also born and raised in that same area. This lunch cost about $2.65.
  5. That's quite simple really. Games were being sold together in a lot, conditions weren't described properly, and there was a dead bug in a cruddy -looking cartridge. This doesn't really sound like collector territory tbh
  6. I think it's because some backers (like myself) backed a higher tier that came with extra crap. It's been so Iong I can't even remember what all was supposed to come with
  7. I've contacted various people regarding the project off and on throughout the past several years, I think the last time I got a response from First Press Games themselves was roughly a year ago, but only after threatening to leave a bad review. Until then, all emails went unanswered. From my understanding, due to COVID-19 supplies got messed up and therefore since FPG wanted to source everything from Japan to maintain their made in Japan image, things got delayed. But COVID-19 was how many years ago now? Similarly, the game Project Blue is available for sale on Famicom format on some sites, some people have it, yet Kickstarter backers still don't have theirs (well at least I don't, and in the somewhat near future I'm hoping to move house). The whole situation, it's just crap after spending about $100 or whatever, and I think the only way anything will come from this is to make the situation known publicly. I'm sure the devs received their money years ago, so what does it matter to them if Kickstarter backers like me received our game? That said, suddenly there's a bit more skin in the game if the situation is made public. It's something that honestly needs to be addressed, sooner than later, rather than just sending countless emails into a black hole year after year and getting the same similar replies.
  8. I think sometimes people just get greedy, sadly enough. The friend knew I had been the first in line for the lot of games, but he pressured the seller after not following instructions. It's a situation where I pretend that I don't know he's the one who did this, to maintain friendship and relationship for buying/trading things from said friend in the future, but at the same time I've definitely lost some respect for the person.
  9. Anyone actually get their copy of Project Blue for the Famicom? I backed the Kickstarter for the game years ago, still received nothing. @FrankenGraphics and others involved in the project, thoughts? This has dragged out for way too long at this point...
  10. I love the asshole sellers who put a list of specific instructions in their listings, such as "Do not directly but, contact me first" and what not. On two occasions I've followed instructions and was first in line, with the seller agreeing to sell me said items and open up a custom listing for me. Then along comes some plonker that doesn't follow the seller's instructions, and directly buys and pays. Instead of refunding them, the seller on both occasions just rolled with it, then told me I was shit out of luck. I made sure to point out to the seller later when said buyers started reselling the underpriced goods for 100X the cost only days after receiving said items. Man I'm still salty about that bullshit, and the most recent time the buyer that screwed me was a so called friend.
  11. Did the guy just pull the set of games out of his garage and throw them up on ebay whilst cleaning house, or was it a collector? If the situation was A, then I honestly don't think he did much of anything wrong. Yeah he could have perhaps wiped the games off better or taken more pictures, but I wouldn't call it shady not doing so either.
  12. I had issues with the 2 factor crap as well, and got locked out about a month back. A few years back my company was running ads on FB and the process was horrible, they kept restricting our ads due to bots sending up red flags. The only reason I'm still on FB / still use it is because I've got a lot of friends and contacts around the globe.
  13. I think it comes with the territory of large untested lots, actually.
  14. I always thought this show was stupid, even as a child. Went back and watched a random episode tonight, which confirmed my opinion. Never watched it much, rather just brief bits here and there, but it was one of those shows that I always felt "meh" about. Regarding the creator and the sa stuff, I think it's one of those situations where those who enjoy the show shouldn't have to add some sort of disclaimer trying to remove his or her association from the author. I know in this day and time it's a somewhat unpopular viewpoint to take, but I definitely separate folks from their works; then again, never really saw celebs as some sort of heroes growing up, lol. I prefer to look at the entirety of what a person has done in life rather than focus and fixate on one or two spots.
  15. Whilst it's okay to dunk on new collectors, shouldn't be dunking on dem old ones.
  16. Yeah, everyone has their own way of conducting business, as well as expectations. I'm not going to refuse business just because I have some personal dispute against someone, as long as the money is legit. I always felt this sort of attitude was ignorant and short-sighted, as generally these kinds of disputes are just petty beefs, often due to unrelated things. You might feel differently with how you react, and that is within your right.
  17. So if everyone already knows the new person, yet they just hadn't signed up here yet, does that make them new or not new? So many questions.
  18. Generally the people that act in the above manner do not plan on sticking around, or are not actively involved in the community. If it is a teenager or younger person, it is a different story; however, if an adult starts trying to pull said shady shit, they should be outed, period. Edit: Also, @Mega Tank no idea what folks down your way are smoking, but if we had issues previously but you would into my shop with cash and my guys are on the register, I'm more than happy to sell you whatever. Money is money, business is business.
  19. Anyone happen to be looking for a sealed excel / IE?
  20. 60000$ usd is the goal, yet these games are already developed. So is this just like using Kickstarter as presales, or is there a sketch breaking down how the money is being spent? I own half the games already, so it would be nice to know more about this project. Thanks.
  21. So what sort of behavior would people like to see from new collectors?
  22. I don't allow this crap to happen. If a seller or agent or whoever does this to me, I call them out, then escalate to the point that they back down and send the item, or fear that their reputation will be in shambles. There's honestly no need for this kind of bullshit, full stop. @Linkfollowed through with a deal, despite realizing too late that he sold it too cheap, I'd do the same without thinking twice, and have sold stuff too cheap occasionally in similar situations.
  23. It's a braised pork rice bowl with an egg, cabbage, and other things thrown in.
  24. To answer the original question, my collection and collecting habits are starting to change, something that was caused recently as I decided to dismantle my dedicated game room so that I could turn it into an office. This decision was brought about by some other major changes in my life that happened this year, it will be a great year. By getting rid of my game room, the amount of space I have for my collection has also decreased. As a result, this has made me take some steps that I knew would come about at some point, i.e. paring the collection. A few things I realized is that aside for the Switch, I really have little to no interest in gaming from the 7th generation of consoles onwards, and even my interest in the sixth generation is limited. So I'm going to ditch almost all of the Xbox / 360 stuff, and casually get GC games that are fun or iconic. Sega Dreamcast I have the most interest in from that generation, ironically enough, so that stuff will stay. Similarly, I have little interest in the SNES. I will just keep iconic or gamer stuff, ditch the rest.
  25. Before I had a postal box, I used to get them all sent to my work. This was around the same time period. There's be mounds of parcels everytime I'd head in to work, the secretary was like, "Man you sure made a lot of friends here in Taiwan quickly".
