  1. Why is there such a thing as the "Corona Virus Challenge"? Is this why we can't have nice things? https://nypost.com/2020/03/25/influencer-reportedly-hospitalized-with-coronavirus-after-licking-toilet/
  2. Cash for Nintendo Power magazines. The trend of satisfaction continues.
  3. Welcome to VGS! And I'll add my voice to the din. Give us some pics/walkthroughs!
  4. That just proves even more that he's not treating politics like a team sport, which everyone who isn't a partisan hack should applaud. It took me 5 minutes to read a few snippets of his original op-ed and know that, again, the choice he made was not as binary as indicated above. There were parts of it he didn't like and parts he did (like many/most bills I would imagine). Rand isn't opposed to governmental involvement in the current crisis. He just wants to exercise the part he has to play in it with more nuance and, apparently, less panic.
  5. Fraud's don't usually enjoy attracting so much attention and put such large targets on their backs so consistently.
  6. With a system as complex as the economy and the situation at hand, a binary choice like the one presented is not an accurate reflection of reality and would only appeal to partisans, whom are the very ones intent on attacking him. He doesn't oppose the funding. He just wants to pay for it more responsibly.
  7. And aren't most of you opposed to heaping more debt on future generations?
  8. Hmm. He voted in line with his principles by looking down the road beyond the immediate concern. Still...
  9. I have had pretty good success with using an iron, but never soaking. I use the iron for steaming and pressing. Let me see if I can find the youtube video...
  10. 1st order of business would be to find/have a Game Action Replay for the NES. 2nd order - play through all 3 NES Super Mario Bros. games, no warps. 3rd order - binge watch/rewatch the Netflix Castlevania series.
  11. How many countries have signed treaties/agreements/etc with the US so that they can focus their funds on domestic needs instead of their own military buildup?
  12. Yup, fully on board with ordering more takeout from favored local eateries. If the pizza place down the road closes the world will be bereft of a particularly good steak and cheese grinder. Tastes like the griddle has never been cleaned (in a good way), with grease that soaks into your bones and makes you feel all warm inside... and your left arm hurt.
  13. As a non-official representative of that age bracket, I'd like to extend my condolences and welcome you to "The Back 9"
  14. I'd say there's a fair amount of VGS members who feel/think similarly. They just don't post as much.
  15. I think there's a fear on the part of legislators (apart from the fear of contracting and dying from it) that if ANY of them fail to implement the most extreme measures they will suffer politically in the aftermath.
  16. Hmm... I wouldn't mind cracking my toaster open again. It's already got that "Blinking Light Win" installed. Really just want to blow off some steam at night by playing through SMB3 in it's entirety. For some reason, that has been my go-to game since the whole Corona thing descended on us.
  17. Using "You" so much in a rebuttal automatically raises a person's defenses, while addressing counterpoints to the ideas leaves more room for consideration. Not sensitive, just trying to help the community achieve a more peaceable consensus by throwing out free unsolicited advice (since everyone can see the post and choose whether or not to implement it into their conversational toolkit).
  18. You'd increase your persuasive capabilities 10 fold if you addressed the ideas instead of the person. And probably get a +1 modifier if you left out any hint of passive aggression.
  19. I believe this is the impetus behind the massive effort to close all non-essential businesses. There is almost no chance of the virus not spreading to pretty much every corner of the country, and the expectation is that herd immunity will take effect eventually. The main focus, to my knowledge, is to soften the blow to the hospitals from a full on rush to a manageable trickle. EDIT: Dang it. Capt beat me to it
  20. I'm a busy man. Husband and father of two (one a 9 month old). Full time job. Projects on the side. Every moment of free time is precious. So my question is this: Is there something like the Game Genie that can act as a save state for NES games that have no password or continue options (I'm looking at you Blaster Master!)? Something that will allow me to play on my old NES deck, pick up where I left off when I have a second, and save my progress so I don't have to slog back through?
