Don't look like an R to me looks like a hickey

"A hickey is a spot or halo on the printed image that resembles a donut or bullseye."

@Hybrid  what is the term for the 'R' mark is so small that it is just a "kickey" is there a term for that....  or any letter for that?  and is this a printing/design/ issue/error?  or because of mass print issue/offset issue.  just looking for clarification for identification and classification.

verified this is along the same production date as the no dash tetris. same Man and same facility number.  so it is safe to say this is part of the no dash production.   as for now i will keep this as a "one of"  until we find more.  i sure @Splain will find before me but let the search start and a large thanks to @Pichaco for sharing this for discussion.  now @Pichaco you need to send me the kiosk cart asap..

Ok, wait a second.  Is that the original one that started the discussions from years ago?  I recall that the label looked to be damaged on one corner so it was assumed it was a a label swap.  Yours does have label damage but not in a corner, which is typical of someone trying to remove the label to put it on another cartridge.  This thing might be for real?!

If it is, I wonder if these were NFRs?

yes this is the original cart and no there is still no damage to any part of the label. still looking for any help on this cart.

I can agree that it's 100% speculation but the conclusions I have come from working in manufacturing and working with QA departments.  Numbers don't just get stamped for no reason so when we see patterns arise and we know the purpose of most of this type of behavior in manufacturing, there's a lot we can assume and probably be 95% correct but, still, being very-likely correct is not a fact.

That said, anyone know anyone who is Japanese and knows there equivalent of LinkedIn?  I would LOVE to find an employee that would know about this.  Howard use to frequent Nintendo Age.  I wonder if he'd know but I doubt he's accessible now like he use to be.

The 3 factors no-one knows.  but do now..

    1) there is one very very very consistent 2 digit code that is entirely printed/made/assembled/packaged from the same region/factory/same year..

    2) there is 1 consistent NON-2 digit code that is entirely printed/assembled/packaged from the same region.

    3) there is 1 consistent NON-2 digit code that is entirely printed/made/assembled/packaged from the same 2 region.

It really is fun to find variants that sellers don't know to be rare, it's the "New Game+" of fullset collecting.

These trays are really cool. I'd love to store my collection in something like that, but it's just too many games and none of them are CIB lol.

we check and you can hold about 40 carts in each tray...

I'm not sure where to value these but I have seen them as I've not seen them in a long, long time.  I seem to recall they might have went for about $30-45 bucks but that was before the COVID and Wata booms where everyone on the street was collecting games.

If you want to put them up as BINs on eBay, I'd list them as a single listing with a quantity of 10 (or however many you'd want to sell) and start them at $75,  If no one bites for a bit, drop them down to $50.

i was thinking of the 75-90 for the price..

I'm working on them, too. The charms will give you points toward ranks, so I'm working on balancing the numbers, which means making the ranks upfront.

I'm going through and making ranks for forum participation. The names and images are kinda placeholder (I generated the images using AI, off the top of my head), but it's like... a base for what we'll have at least. I was thinking I might do a poll to ask what people want to see.

cool..  and the charms are back when?  LOL....
