  1. One of the nicer hangtab copies out there. Older NES title that doesn’t get enough love.
  2. Always one of my favorite games when I was a kid.....probably because of the sweet 3D glasses.
  3. I really enjoy this forum. Reminds me of the old days :). Sealed cardboard hangtab Raid on Bungeling Bay w/improved photos.
  4. I have received a very real, genuine, no questions asked, no bs or drama offer of 75k for my copy (and many others in that range) which is not near the condition, 4th print (one code) hangtab that was on the show. I have zero reason to try and inflate the cost/hype of the game as those that know me and my collecting habits know I only sell when an upgrade is possible and simply don’t want the money more than the game. There has been a substantial increase and interest in games, particularly high profile sealed copies of franchise titles in the past 12 months. I would pay a hefty price (not near 1million but more than what it sold for) and it isn’t even close to what it would take to land such a title. The collecting video game market is profoundly different than even 2-3 years ago. Sad but true.
  5. I picked up the Bandit Kings for what I thought was one of the few decent prices in the auction. Overpaid for a few more middle of the roaders that I needed for the collection. Some crazy prices.....2k for a mint Bases Loaded seemed mind blowing to me.....used to be able to get a black box for that amount...
  6. I thought the Wrecking crew 8.5 A was a steal for that price. That was without a doubt one of the more difficult black box games for me to find. If I didn’t already own it, I would have bid for certain.
  7. Still my favorite Zelda game to this day. Everything about it was nothing short of perfect. Still play it today
  8. Unless the employee on the right wearing the gloves packed the game —guess the mystery will never be solved!
  9. It depends, if the flap has no crease, and it’s never been opened or touched, it has some appeal to me depending on the title. The MM & my Mighty Bomb Jack are two examples of games I can appreciate, albeit not as much as my sealed games. In terms of MM, I have 1-6 sealed, but my MM1 is oval, and now I have a half hazard “complete set”. I also have a few games, a Duck Hunt and Gyro straight from a deluxe w/no wrap, and they are clearly new and nicer than any examples out there....but again, no wrap.....so these are some of the weird/unusual examples and certainly a personal taste....definitely the title(s) for me.
  10. Agree with Jone on the sticker hype. I was floored on the initial prices brought in on sticker seals, and even sold a few that I owned to cash in on some of the hype, but ultimately, it was apparent from the start that players (buyers) were moving into a territory that they knew very little about....and that is not a pun to them in any way....it’s just how this hobby has worked......for the entire time I’ve been into collecting games....and I’ve even been a victim to it (I can’t tell you how many dozens of times a trend on some weird variant discovered on NA caused me to spend a hundred dollars or more, just to find out they were plentiful ). The two constants that I have noticed in our hobby is that both sealed, and insanely mint CIB are always short in supply, therefore, have steadily increased in price for a decade. I also like the point Bronty brought up about new/sealed games....:they are untouched, never saw the light of day, with no ability to “improve” the grade outside of a gentle cleaning. I also remove all stickers from my games when possible, and have found flaws (wrap tears) strategically hidden under stickers several times in the past on some games I bought—-so many things to be aware of when getting into video game collecting. I thought there were a fair amount of great deals on Certified link this go around, and, had I not invested in the mega man w/no wrap (I needed a circle seal to complete my set regardless of where the 9.4 ends up) I would have bought a few of them like the boulder dash and a few others.
  11. My latest NES pickup. A game that I’ve “wanted” to purchase for a long time now, just was always too pricey to pull the trigger. I finally just went for it and am happy to check it off the list.
  12. I just love it when perseverance, conviction and love for a game related item comes through. I am fairly certain that Dan had to let go some of his babies to land such an epic piece. And so worth it once it comes to fruition. Congrats. What an amazing piece of gaming history!
