I already felt that way by gen 3. First two gens were awesome, but the third added too many new pokemon, and all kinds of superfluous crap like beauty contests and home decoration. I've played the stuff up to and including the DS gens, and probably will try the Switch ones, but not having high expectations. Seriously, there's about 1k pokemon now, try to catch them all or even to memorize them all lol.

It was rather disappointing to get a big price bump for only a small improvement in graphics. I'll probably get a used PS5 eventually, to play FF16, but Horizon 2 and a few others are going to be on PS4 too so not much of a rush for them.

Over 250 entrants applied, but only 4-5 finished (the admin has not yet approved the last entry, so not sure if it's valid). Still, at least four new SNES games for you to play. Self-promotion: Incognity is my entry.

Multi-disc games certainly have a special feel, but I have to disagree about "getting your money's worth". Simply because the multi-disc games were more expensive back then - ff7 and ff8 were like 20% more than a typical game.

Why do you think the N64 Indy looks worse? To me it looks a lot better than the PC ver. Also, while it was never released in PAL-land, there is a leaked PAL ROM, you can play that on an Everdrive.

I concur that tank controls make a game absolutely unplayable. Good think RE2 original had better controls (on N64) ;)

^ that certainly divides opinions. That's exactly what's good about mednafen to me, no GUI crap getting in the way or slowing me down. Or worse, tying it to one OS.

Just be prepared, N64 emulation is not good even on PCs. On a handheld with some ARMs? Even worse. If playing N64 is a major part of your decision, there's no good option really, the custom portable N64s are rare and won't play other stuff.

"Could you please clarify what month-ish you have in mind? ..." implies it doesn't matter and no change is necessary, when it's in fact a big deal when you have a global audience. So your sentence does not get the point across. It's also funny you refer to yourself as polite when your quote "see what I wrote above" just as well refers to "nobody cares what you think". I won't even answer the rest for obvious reasons.

Matt: it always annoys me when people use American-centric times. August is part of Fall here. So July is the last Summer month. It's the same when they say "holiday season" to mean "christmas", when there are at least four holiday seasons in a year worldwide - in spring, summer, fall and winter.

3d is far more immersive. Doesn't matter if it's ugly like FF7 or Tomb Raider, it still has that effect that 2d has not.

What'd be the point? Such an upgrade mainly means 4k, such TVs are uncommon, and such resolution is useless for Nintendo games. I'd argue it's useless for any games as well as any video, your eyes cannot see that many pixels at normal view distance.

NESmaker should be able to do a RPG. Or, you could do a proto in one of the RPG makers, and once it's complete, team up for a NES port.
