  1. 6/10. Gimmicks held up enough interest to finish the game (with around 200 moons IIRC), but couldn't bother starting the collectathon.
  2. Tried the Arcade mode today, and boy was it a disappointment. Zero challenge. It seems the AI sucks when you don't give it all the advantages the campaign maps do. This severely drops my rating of this game, I expected there'd be a decent amount of playworthy content left (the puzzle mode is not for me, though I did complete half of that).
  3. It's just different. I S-ranked the entire AW series, for Wargroove half is S, half is A, and one mission is B (the near-final one where you have only commanders, that's far too persnickety to replay). AW penalizes you for losing units, while Wargroove only cares about speed - you will have to sacrifice and go faster in Wargroove.
  4. Just completed the campaign. While sold as a spiritual successor to AW, it's more like Langrisser/Shining Force than AW. And not as good as AW either. Misc notes: naval units are badly designed. The AI is extremely weak against split tactics, it will focus on one splinter. The screen that shows which units get how much damage from this unit made a gigantic blunder in using the tiny ingame sprites for each, it's very difficult to tell them apart. It should have used sword/spear/bow/etc icons, would've been much clearer.
  5. Next up: VCD recording of an actual concert, playable on your Sega Saturn with the VCD extension card ;)
  6. What would be the point of a N64 music cart? It'd just play MP3s, it has no chiptune chip. Zero difference to playing those MP3s on your computer.
  7. At least it's harder than the sports games, there you don't even update music, only the player names :P
  8. That's curious, I wasn't aware anybody had done a (partial even) MMC5 CPLD. And your title even says 2017.
  9. @Code Monkey: the games do not run directly from the SD card, that's too slow. They load into internal memory, which is limited size.
  10. (/me imagines DoctorEncore spending two hours in an old house's elevator, the kind where you have to close the door)
  11. Short summary from different places: the sticks feel good, curve is slightly different. The tech is different, they are not going to go loose (instead they will suffer from modern issues like drift). The stick module cannot be transplanted to old controllers without an adapter PCB, which nobody has yet designed. The controller itself can be used on a real N64, one BT adapter already has support and another will be adding it.

    Time Wasted

Doesn't seem to be on https://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_Super_Mario_Bros._3_glitches
  13. Whatever Nintendo gets cheap. The big question is why some Nintendo-owned properties aren't there either.

    Time Wasted

I don't really understand the question. If a game sucks, I cut it early, not spending hours on it. Preferably I don't even start it, by reading reviews beforehand. If a good game loses a save, that time was not wasted even if I can't be bothered to replay.
  15. There's more broken than just the fog, the pics I've seen screw up the water shaders.
  16. I don't have either, but I'd probably pick Retrostage's or Sanni's.
  17. 10/10. Played it on the Wii and enjoyed it thoroughly.
  18. From a modern perspective, it would be better to get a GB cart reader, then edit the save using that. The cheat carts are limited, with save editing you can make exactly the pokemon you want.
  19. Those who have tried both this and Creepy Brawlers, how do you think they compare?
  20. How will the strict parental controls prevent the other person from saying something bad?
  21. And inb4 "I like to sit closer", it's fine to have your preference, I'm referring to general ergonomics guidelines that limit how much you have to turn your head and eyes when watching. If you have a huge screen and sit close, obviously more pixels will be visible to you.
  22. @ifightdragons: You don't mention screen size. If it's a 60 incher, then 10 feet is way too close and not normal view distance. 10ft would be normal view distance for a 32". I CBA to look up the physical limits of the eye, but it certainly exists and yes, it is crossed with these TVs at normal ranges.
  23. 4k tvs are affordable, but they don't have a wide install base. For obvious reasons, because there's not much need for them.
