  1. I bought this pile of magazines on Mercari for about $110: I have mixed feelings about it. Condition is all over the place. Some of the magazines are in bad shape. A few have water damage. But I think it's still a good deal overall. The 2 Nintendo Power bonus issues are worth a bit on their own. There's plenty here that I will keep. And the Let's Find Pokemon book will be great for my kids.
  2. Toy Story 3 Wii Lithograph edition: https://www.ebay.com/itm/404178742721?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=jWD5LzbRQay&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=_w4Ja4vNRs-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I never see this pop up. Don’t know if the price is good though.
  3. Was traveling the past couple weeks so I wasn't chasing much. Some of this arrived while I was away. Here's the new gets: Your eyes do not deceive you. I got two copies of the 3D trading cards variant of Toy Story 3 for the DS. One is sealed, the other is opened with the cards still sealed. Been looking for this one for a while and then I get a sealed and a CIB within a span of a month. Fun stuff. Also the 3DS cases were all pretty good prices. The Zelda case was sold as new and I'm not happy that the box is ripped up but it's hard to find this set so I'm going to just keep it.
  4. Paid $640 for all this; The console is missing the strategy guide which is easy to fix because I have that guide already. There’s also some stickers I need to remove from the console and two of the extra controllers which should be easy. The game is in very good shape with all paperwork. Seems like overall it should be worth a decent amount more than what I paid. Will see!
  5. Finally tracked down this variant, and it’s sealed!
  6. This preorder just got a nice price drop Animal Crossing: New Horizons Official Complete Guide https://a.co/d/13EKyvQ
  7. It’s a Boku no Natsuyasumi game (Summer Vacation) but with the characters and art style from Crayon Shin-Chan. It’s cute, funny, etc. Still waiting for the day that the original series gets translated but this is a nice entry.
  8. More pickups! Got the AC e-reader cards in a trade and Muramasa in another trade. And got the FE Engage pins from My Nintendo Got the Tales of Destiny II guide in a trade and saw that the Creating Q*Bert book was on sale for a really good price, so that's something to read. Bandai Namco store was having a sale for Valentine's Day and I had been eyeing these Taiko shirts for a while, those were buy 2 get 1 free, and they also had the Pac Man World Re-Pac Chogokin bundle on sale. It's a shame that the game doesn't come bundled like a CE, but I really like the figure and plan to display it. Got some AC amiibo cards for $20, seemed like a good deal That's all for now!
  9. Paid $20 for these cards. I think it was a great deal.
  10. Is it weird that I'm fine with paying $34.99 for Shantae or Xtreme Sports on Switch but A Boy and his Blob collection which has two games in one feels like it's not worth it? I think the problem is I don't think the A Boy and his Blob games are fun. The Wii remake was much better.
  11. Armored Core series guides got expensive. Not even surprising.
  12. Been jonesing for these Taiko no Tatsujin shirts for a while, but couldn't bring myself to pony up the cash for them. Well it's Valentine's Day sale over at Bandai Namco's store so I'm treating myself.
  13. I’m the same way up until the last point. Brady had some good guides! And in some cases the Brady guide is the official one. I will actually look up reviews and try to see which guide is better to decide. Also, the early Brady guides that were unauthorized and used their own artwork are really funny. I like collecting those just for the cheesy artwork.
  14. I know there is a club for strategy guides but clubs are mostly dormant so I'm starting a thread here. As you all know I love collecting strategy guides and I try to keep up with the new ones that are coming out at any given time. These have gotten really niche, there aren't many being made. One of the few modern guides I picked up in the last couple years was the Ni No Kuni II guide which was $39.99 when I bought it in June 2021. Fast forward to today and a sealed copy is going for $100 shipped on eBay. The next guide I'm planning to pick up is the Animal Crossing New Horizons v2 guide which is up for pre-order. Unlike the first guide for this game, the v2 one will be hardcover and will have way more content. Here's an article explaining the updated version with a link to pre-order. Feel free to chat about strategy guide collecting here!
  15. I got serious about collecting in 2018 after doing it casually since I was a kid and I had already given up on some things. The cost of going after NES, SNES, N64 was a lot for me then and it's way worse now. I stick to stuff I can still get for "reasonable" amounts so I mostly collect relatively modern stuff now. I'm happy to already have a bunch of stuff that has gotten really expensive since I picked it up. I'm on a budget now so the stuff I'm getting is "cheap." I collect Nintendo Force magazine which is still in print, My Nintendo Rewards which are pretty much free, Switch / 3DS / DS / Wii stuff, strategy guides, etc. etc. Nothing too crazy.
  16. More fresh pickups! Been mostly focused on getting stuff through trades, trying not to spend much money. Got the 3DS and the pins in a trade, the 3DS just needs a charger base to be complete in box. It's in excellent shape too. Funny enough I didn't have any launch model 3DS units on hand, I used to have a black one but that was years ago. Love the aqua blue and my brother has the same model. Thank you @Silent Hill for trading with me Also got the worm lights in a local deal for $5 and the LEGO Mario set was like $7 on Amazon. I love Kuribo's Shoe, probably my favorite item in all of Mario lore, so I had to have the LEGO set. Bought my son a Digimon for his birthday and I bought one for myself as well. He's not really into it though... so I haven't even opened mine yet. I also got the Rocket League CE from @bridgemute. Found Card Shark for about $50 shipped and then one of my LRG orders finally arrived with Sol Cresta, Valis and RCG Zero. Another successful trade, got the Pokemon Moon Figure bundle and a nearly complete Super Puzzle Fighter II. Found this rough CIB of Hi Hi Puffy Amiyumi for a little over $20. I already had a loose Nintendogs DS Lite and a nearly complete Pink Ribbon DS Lite which was just missing the tray. Managed to find the box for the Nintendos DS Lite on eBay for a really good price, then managed to find two trays from another eBay seller, so now these are both complete! With styluses, port covers, booklets, chargers, yadda yadda. Got Corrin P2 with the recent reprint and also finally received my FE Engage DE preorder. Lastly, finally decided to start a collection of Animal Crossing e-Reader cards with this Facebook Marketplace purchase. That's all for now!
  17. Got the urge to put together a collection of Animal Crossing e-Reader cards. Checked Facebook Marketplace and found a lady selling a bunch in separate listing and it looked like they weren't moving too quick. I reached out and asked if she'd be willing to do a bundle and she said yes. So I paid about $52 with shipping and tax for these cards altogether. Not pictured are a couple duplicates. Not much of a steal but a little better than eBay prices.
  18. People have managed to hack the OUYA and keep it going, even finding ways around the DRM on games. But the problem with Stadia is there’s no digital media. It’s cloud streaming. So no servers means no games. Maybe the hardware can be unlocked and used as a general TV box but you may as well just get a chromecast. The only thing that is useful is the controller.
  19. Ordered! I love this stuff. Very little info out there about it, so it's great to see this level of effort into cataloguing this history.
