  1. Hi everyone, just popped in to say Happy New Year to everyone involved in this site, admins, mods, patrons and everyone behind the scenes who make this site possible for all of us. All the best in 2024

  2. I JUST posted this elsewhere but seems a welcoming place to share here as well. Amazingly, I never had an original GAMEBOY back in the day. Honestly, one time I came REALLY close, like I went into this small shop near me and even asked to look at one, I knew the popularity of them and of course I had loved my NES. Maybe I was still too impressionable back then but the sales clerk, a young fella but older than me was so anti-GAMEBOY lol, and was like naw man, don't waste your money, it's for little kid this system. Not that I was considering or could afford any alternative at the time but I never reconsidered. Who knows, maybe it was a mistake. No doubt I'd of had plenty of fun with one. Of course years later, getting into retro gaming, revisiting my childhood I see it differently. Never DID get an OG Gameboy, my first was actually a Gameboy Advance SP and over the years from collecting I did happen to obtain THIS little beauty, a GAMEBOY POCKET given to me actually, only have a couple of carts for it though...... This is all I have for carts, a couple of GBC as well which I can play on my GBA SP at least. The only one I cannot play of course is Mahjong, even if it was in English I never picked up on the game.
  3. Seen many of his movies, am a pretty big fan I would say, and have watched some of them numerous times, standouts for me are: The Thing. Big trouble in Little China. Escape from New York. The Fog. They Live. Prince of darkness. In the Mouth of Madness. LOVE his soundtracks and the atmosphere he creates, to me he is one of a kind.
  4. Loving this as a fan back in the day of Transformers: Beast Wars (in Canada it aired on YTV under Beasties: Transformers, I don't know why either) it was likely an expensive show being early CGI along the lines of REBOOT ! looking primitive by todays standards but still I LOVED IT! Never thought I would see it again in this form, love NETFLIX or hate it, it is amazing they bring back shows like this and the NOSTALGIA is strong! It looks amazing!
  5. PlayStation - was anyone else impressed with the later revised consoles? I mean, I know they would follow a few years later after many revisions and better implementation, reduction of the chipset etc. basically, improved technology and yet I was pretty impressed with the smaller original PlayStation but man, with the mini slim version of the PlayStation 2? I couldn’t believe how tiny that thing was!
  6. My unboxing of an classic Atari computer! Originally uploaded to VIMEO in 2012 I realized in 2017 I never uploaded it to my Youtube channel and corrected this asap. ANYWAY, it was a fun unboxing of a great machine I received from Bryan on Atariage and I still have!
  7. Over in a ColecoVision Facebook Group (ColecoVision Lunatics) I commented previously on fellow member Jorge Gonzalez post about the ColecoVision Super Action Controllers, that they in fact were the first item I collected kicking off my Youtube channel back in 2008. For yucks here is the video, 3 minutes of low res cringe but it did kick off what would become a rather nice retro collection, ColeocVision related items including 2 ColecoVisions, 2600 expansion module, Steering Wheel adaptor, and I would eventually even preview the Atarimax SD flashcart for Steven Tucker beta cart (successor to his amazing USB original Atarimax ColecoVision cart) Feel free to search COLECO in my channel for several videos I made related to ColecoVision, some much improved in resolution at the very least as I DID get a better camera later own, I even review a homebrew and dissect a Super Action Controller FYI I DO plan to get around to finally doing new videos though I have slowed down a lot in recent times but I can definitely do more ColecoVision related content.
  8. It has been shown the AtariOS (the OS / INTERFACE INCLUDED with the crowd funded AtariVCS that has recently been trickling out to backers) can be booted on other pc hardware, images and videos have been shown it booting on laptops and desktops with various degrees of success, meaning issues with networking, sound etc, sound is sometimes fixed plugging in a USB audio device etc. more surprises, while the AtariOS USB stick I created worked on my desktop and a up laptop to various degrees it didn’t work on my old bedroom desktop, due to no no uefi boot options. I also imaged this Sata drive, plugged into 2011 MacBook Pro and held down option key when booting, displayed a drive called efi and it booted, Bluetooth even seems to be working though I have no Bluetooth controller, no network though I am sure it would be fine if I plugged in Ethernet. Figured would not hurt to try Nice use for the old recycle bin find MacBook! I had yet to see this done on Apple hardware so thought I would share.
  9. If all goes as planned within a couple weeks I will be getting my first ever PlayStation 3, a slim series model with Custom Firmware even. I had the OG PlayStation and PS2 and loved them but was put off of PS3 launch price and somehow it just slipped by me since. I won this one in a contest though much to my surprise, not sure what I can do with the Jailbreak custom firmware besides load games to hard drive, I've no interest in online play with others or if I need and PSN account to do anything with it or what is risk of messing up the custom firmware etc? All new to me, I watched a video on the process of how it was modded, frankly not hard but many tedious steps involved, now I just want to get the most out of it but it's all new to me. Anyway I intend to research and learn as much as I can, might post back here in a thread for help or suggestions once I have received and set it up.
