  1. The 3D effect was always interesting, and I would always try it out with each game I played to see how it looked, but I could never play any game very long with the 3D effect turned on, even with it turned down to the lowest setting. I would always eventually turn it off completely. Thankfully, Nintendo never required that element in the gameplay. I could live without that feature in any type of hardware replacement in the future.
  2. Easy 9 for me. I watched it for the first time while in high school on Comedy Central having absolutely no idea what it was. I loved it immediately and it's never gotten old for me. Oddly enough, I've never really been able to get into anything else Monty Python related.
  3. That's very cool. I've never seen anything like that. My recommendation for finding information on it was going to be Gamereve, but you've already been there. Good luck with your search.
  4. I enjoy Flip Out and probably play it at least once a year. I've never played it through to completion because it's the type of game I enjoy playing 20 minutes and stopping. Obviously the game is not very pleasant to look at, but I still enjoy the puzzle aspect. I was considering trying to beat it for the first time for this thread, but I guess you beat me to it. I have the Jaguar GameDrive, so I can play any Jag game, but I don't know of any other games I could play through to completion. Most of the games I enjoy, I'm not great at. I love Power Drive Rally, but I can't finish some of the later more challenging races. I also enjoy Trevor McFur, but I can only beat it with cheat codes. Tempest 2000 is fun, but when I play it, I only play until I run out of lives. I can't beat that game, and I don't enjoy it enough to play it over and over until I get good enough to beat it. Doom is a possibility, but playing it with the Jag controller isn't ideal.
  5. I always enjoyed being able to play Galaga during the loading screen on some of the Namco games during the PS1 era. I always wondered why other games didn't do something similar. I didn't realize until almost 30 years later that Namco was able to get a patent on loading screen games. I would never of thought of that as something that could be patented. It's too bad, because it was a great way to pass the time during the loading screen, which was often times very long during that era.
  6. During the PS4/XBone era, I bought so much PS3, Wii and Wii U stuff from GameStop for really good deals. I bought games that I was interested in. I wasn't just buying shovelware. I could have easily bought WAY more if I was buying everything that was cheap. I remember thinking during that time, that there was no other place anywhere selling these types of games as cheap as GS. Unfortunately, the PS5/SeriesX era hasn't been the same. Due to COVID and other issues, the current gen took off much slower, and a very high % of users continued to use the previous gen for an extended amount of time. This kept prices for those games higher and made it harder to find deals. Within the past year, we have finally gotten to the point where PS4 prices should start dropping, but now GS now carries such a small amount of inventory, they are no longer able to offer the types of deals that they did in the past.
  7. I enjoy puzzle games, but I am not familiar with any of these.

I would be interested. I'm interested. I know you said that you wanted to do everything as a single lot, but if someone is interested in the Nintendo stuff, I would be willing to split it with them.
  9. Because of the nature of the 3DS hardware (and its age), I think it will be a long time before we ever see a good way to play original carts on anything other than the original hardware. I just don't see any type of clone console or something with the quality of an Analogue system coming anytime soon. I think for now we are stuck just using the actual 3DS hardware. Since the 3DS is also backwards compatible with the DS library, those consoles are obviously the most desirable and will fetch the best prices.
  10. I agree. I love both games, but I remember some of the later levels in TMNT 3 have some enemies that take way too many hits, and it starts to get a bit tedious. TMNT 2 and 3 are both great games, but TMNT 4 took it to a whole new level.
  11. Guitar Hero is done. All songs complete. My skill level requires that I play on medium, but the game considers completing all songs as "beating" the game regardless of the difficulty setting. Working on Guitar Hero II now.
  12. When my kinds are in their 40s, I'm sure they will have nostalgic feelings for Minecraft and Roblox and they will be complaining about the crappy games their kids are playing.
  13. I'm not sure why, but the music I listed to in the 2000s hasn't aged nearly as well as the music I listened to in the 80s and 90s. I've thought about this before, but I can't pin point a reason.
  14. It's almost like this forum is full of people who grew up during that era and enjoy that kind of music....... With that said, our ages really show up in our poll results. Just look at the Fortnite debate.
  15. You could have just said "it insists upon itself."
  16. 1121 This one was pretty easy. The first one was the only one I had to think about.
  17. Probably my second favorite Mario game, but I'm still going with a 10. This was also the most excited I have ever been for a new Mario game (including the release of SMB3). I remember being surprised and a little disappointed that it wasn't called SMB4, but I got over that soon (I didn't know about the Japanese name until many years later). Despite being my second favorite Mario title, I probably have more hours in this game than anything else from the mainline Mario series.
  18. Strange coincidence, but I just recently binged all three Naked Gun movies about a week ago. He was in all three of them and played a pretty hilarious character. While watching part 3, it got me wondering about when it was filmed in relation to the murders. I looked it up and found that Naked Gun 33 1/3 was released the same year that the murders took place. It's kind of strange to imagine those two events so close to each other.
  19. I used to be a runner, which is part of where I came up with my user name, but after more than 20 years and however many thousands of miles, I started to develop knee issues that have prevented me from continuing. I eventually switched over to cycling as it gave me similar enjoyment without the impact on my knees. I'm fortunate because the county I live in has hundreds of miles of bike trails all interconnected in a massive system that links me to all of the surrounding areas. My county also has one of the oldest "rail to trail" bike trails in the entire country. I've been pretty bad about riding the past few years, but I'm hoping to get back into it again this year. I have a decent road bike. Nothing too fancy.
  20. I live only a few hour drive from totality, so even though I was home, I got a pretty good view. Skies were completely clear this time around compared to 7 years ago when it was super cloudy and I was lucky to see just a few seconds of the eclipse.
  21. I talked about this in another thread. I hadn't played Rock Band or Guitar Hero in about 15 years, but I've kept all of my stuff all of this time. About a week ago, I got the urge to get all of my old guitars, drums and microphones out of storage and try them out again. I had forgotten how much fun those games could be. As we all know, the market got saturated with new GH and RB releases, and everyone seems to burn out right about the same time and that style of game seemed to disappear overnight. With all of that said, my kids saw the guitars and drums and sure enough they wanted to try it out. Despite owning some of this stuff for about 17 years, for the first time in my entire life, I had the chance to play Rock Band with three players at the same time. We took turns playing guitar, drums and signing and it was a ton of fun. My kids are pretty young. My 10 year old was ok with the guitar if it was set to easy, but my 7 year old just doesn't have the coordination yet. It was still a lot of fun, and if you have the equipment and the people, I highly recommend trying these games out again. Unfortunately, the RB and GH instruments are fairly expensive today, which is a shame because there was a time when you could find a dozen guitars at Goodwill for $2 each. All versions of Rock Band can play up to 4 players. Early versions of Guitar Hero were only two players with guitar only and later versions added drum and microphones for 4 player action. However, all home console versions offer couch co-op playability. Side note: The kick pedal on my PS3 Rock Band drum doesn't work and I'm looking for a replacement.
  22. Is it Minecraft by any chance?
  23. Played it, but not enough to properly rate it.
  24. I finished the remaster of Tomb Raider II. First time getting all secrets on a single playthrough for me. I would like to also play through TR3, but I might need a break from the series before going through that entire game. My complaints with the remastered version of Tomb Raider II are few, and basically the same as TR1. Overall, this set is well worth the price, especially if you are a big fan of the series.
