Same story for us, except we were hovering around zero all weekend as opposed to just freezing. Not super uncommon for us. We tend to have about two weeks in winter time when we don't get much above zero. I'll look forward to getting back to 30 or 32. I typically don't bother with a coat at 32. A nice hoodie is good enough for that.

I haven't seen any from this group, but I always wanted to watch Event Horizon. I've heard so many different things about it. It sounds like a movie that had a lot of potential, but didn't quite work out for numerous reasons. What I've heard about it reminds of of Prometheus. A movie that I wanted to like and was really close to being great, but just didn't work out.

I enjoyed 28 days later and the sequel. I always wished they had made another one.

I've only seen Silence of the lambs from this list, but it's up there as one of my favorite movies of all time. I also enjoyed Red Dragon and Hannibal, but Silence of the Lambs was easily the best of the Anthony Hopkins Hannibal Lecter movies. I haven't' watched any of the other Hannibal Lecter movies or TV shows.

Just Aliens for me, but that particular movie is easily my favorite of that franchise.

The Shinning is the only one I've seen. I don't remember how old I was when I watched it, but I'm pretty sure I was way too young for that type of movie. It scared me as a kid, but I still enjoyed it, and it allowed me to really appreciate the Simpson's take on the movie.

The Exorcist is the only one I've seen, and that was probably 30 years ago.

I was also a PS2 guy during that time. My roommate had a GameCube, but I never played it. I remember watching him play a lot of Resident Evil 4 on it. It definitely had the least amount of game time on it compared to the PS2 that I had or the Xbox my other roommate had. But it's very easy to look back on it and see it as a missed opportunity to have a lot of fun.
I thought I would add a quick story that you might enjoy. There is a member over at The Cover Project who is a GC fan. For many years, it was his goal to have enough equipment to play 16 player Mario Kart Double Dash in his home using 8 GameCubes with the LAN connection, 8 copies of the game, 16 controllers and of course 8 TVs. He has a big family, so he has enough people to play at once. I know he eventually found everything he needed to set it up, but I don't know how often he has ever actually used it all at once. Still, it's pretty impressive that they would even incorporate that into the game.

Just ordered. I figured it would be good to have a souvenir to help remember this year.

I definitely want to play through Origami King so I can make my own comparison to TTYD. As I've mentioned in a different thread, I am able to say that my praises for TTYD have nothing to do with nostalgia since I didn't even play it until several generations after it's release. I'm hoping to pick Origami King up sometime this year. Maybe I will get lucky and find a good deal on it if GS does any type of B1G1 deal on used games. Sometimes Target even has B2G1 on new games which SOMETIMES includes Nintendo titles. I just have too much going on right now to pay full price for a game that I won't play immediately.

I've played the shit out of MGS4 (I have the platinum trophy), I love the game (and the whole series).
I DO intend to play through Twin Snakes soon just to experience it, as it's one of two games in the series I've actually NOT played at all! (the other being Acid)
MGS4 is probably my favorite in the series. I didn't play it until about 2 years after it came out, but after I finished the game, I immediately began to play it again and I ended up playing it straight through from start to finish about 8 times in a row. That's the only game I ever done something like that for. I was such an amazing experience, I just couldn't get tired of it. The Shadow Moses visit is obviously my favorite part, but I also loved the part where you have to follow the guy through the empty city without being caught by the military patrol. When I played it, trophies weren't available yet, and I remember when they became available, you had to start from scratch in order to earn them. That's something I've never tried to do.
I have several comments about Twin Snakes, but if you haven't played it yet, and you plan to play it soon, I will wait. I want to hear your thoughts and opinions before you hear anything from me.

You make me want to play through this game again, and maybe I will. It's probably been at least 10 years for me as well.
Quick question since you are clearly pretty familiar with this game. Did you ever play MGS4? Specifically, the part in the game when you go back and visit Shadow Moses? Talk about amazing.
Also, what are your thoughts on MSG Twin Snakes? Do you play to play through it at all for this blog, or are you focusing just on PS1?

I think the blog length is fine, but my interest is helped by the fact that I really enjoy and know this game very well.
I'm starting to remember the amount of backtracking this game includes. It's one of the few things I wasn't crazy about even when the game was new. I felt that it was put in to help pad the length of the game.

I've never failed the torture other than the times I did it on purpose just to get the stealth camo. However, it's a lot of fun to play the game with the camo. Of course it doesn't work in situations where you are required to interact with the enemy (like boss fights, or mandatory alert phases).

Also, you are one boss battle away from changing discs.

I haven't been commenting, but I've been reading and enjoying all of these posts. MGS was one of my favorite PS1 games. I was lucky enough to buy it used and cheap just a few weeks after it was released because a friend of mine in high school bought it on launch day and beat it in a week before selling it to me.
A lot of the things you point out are funny to me because I remember thinking something similar back in the day. The Codec conversations usually seem to occur during inappropriate times. Why can't Snake steal the stealth camouflage from the dead soldiers?
Also, you are correct that by passing Ocelots torture, you will get the infinite ammo bandanna. I always thought that the stealth camo was a better item than the bandanna even though you only get it by failing the torture and getting the bad ending.

There is absolutely NOTHING in Breath of the Wild that is integral to the game that is exclusive to the Amiibo lineup. NOTHING.
In fact, there aren't enough armor inventory slots in the game to hold all of the armor items from the game, DLC and Amiibo all at the same time. Therefore, you aren't intended to have them all anyway.
