  1. It's been a long time since I played it, but as I recall you can just walk away from the bosses (except maybe the last guy?) and not fight them. That's how I beat it. I don't know if that's a "glitch" but the whole game is a glitchy mess.
  2. I would call it literally unplayable solo, and barely playable with 2 players, and not fun whatsoever. Only worth beating using glitches.
  3. Yeah Incredible Machine was great - on PC. However, I have it on 3DO and it's a real pain in the ass. Similarly, Lemmings is good on PC, it's just the NES port that sucks. Now that you're a fellow "Nintendo Lemming Master", I can let you into our inner circle. We have meetings every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
  4. Crystalis is my #1 ranked NES game. But that's just me. It's just excellently designed.
  5. There are a few levels where you have to be pixel-perfect. When I beat it (see my signature), I swear there were some times when I didn't do anything different but for whatever reason the game gave a slightly different result. So there is a lot of luck involved as well. Unfortunately the NES version isn't very good. Good enough for a casual play, I guess, but glitchy and not play-tested. Lemmings 2 on SNES is a lot better, I think.
  6. I've only ever used real carts except in a few cases like the Panesian games that I don't own.
  7. It's been 12 years since I beat it, but I looked at my old notes (which I surprisingly still had), and it's definitely not a 10 difficulty game. I noted that getting Gold is somewhat challenging, but I rated it 6/10 difficulty. You are probably right about having to get perfect to get Gold. But I don't remember anything about the difficulty setting.
  8. Jeopardy 25th is also done. I lost 3 times before I finally beat it. Yes, I hate this game.
  9. I'm back baby! Well for 1 day anyhow. And as is tradition, I beat a game show game first. Wheel of Fortune is done.
  10. Sorry I didn't ever get back to playing games on this list. Work (and other stuff) overwhelmed me halfway through the year, and never let up. Hopefully I can finally find some free time for retro gaming again in the new year.
  11. I'm about 1/4 done. Been busy with other stuff though. Hopefully will finish it by this weekend.
  12. Is anybody working on Boulder Dash? I can do that one. Probably.
  13. It was already beaten for this thread, but I finally beat Ultima III: Exodus. At last, vengeance for this game that had me stumped as a kid. As an extra challenge, I beat it entirely with no online help. Drawing maps on graph paper - old school. I had to look up a hint just for 1 thing at very end (SPOILER): There are some really cool things with this game, but it is SEVERELY flawed. So frustrating, because with some easy adjustments, it could be great like Ultima IV is.
  14. OK, Digger T. Rock is done. I had to be quick to grab a picture of the end. Not that hard with a map (and walkthrough). Almost good, but lots of cheap ways to die and annoying parts. But at least it's not baseball.
  15. Well. I made it to the last door but didn't make it before it closed, and died. Bleh. Yeah, I see they meant for you to scare the dinosaurs back with dynamite and jump over them. That's weird though. This game has the classic Rare stench, of a game that is almost good, but isn't due to cheapness. I've pretty much memorized the first 4 levels (never played beyond level 1 before today) and I think I figured out a better way to do level 8 than the walkthough says. Stay tuned.
  16. Yeah I read the walkthrough, and it says to knock it back with dynamite, and jump over it. I would think there would be a way to just kill it though. I guess I just gotta time it.
  17. I tried Digger T. Rock and made it to the last level, and got my ass kicked by the first dinosaur. Is there a way to kill this thing? Hmph.
  18. I beat it without a guide back in the early 90's. It helps that it is one of my favorite games. It's got a few issues though (like bugs). Hand-drawing the maps of the dungeons is a pain. Just be glad you don't have to manually mix reagents like in the PC version.
  19. What... what happened? I don't understand. Super Series Champion? And no password? It's... over? It's OVER. Hahahahaha IT'S OVER!!!!! What do I do now? It's been so long since I played any other game. It will take time to get used to this. In all seriousness, this is without a doubt the worst game I've ever played, in terms of repetitive, boring, grinding the same thing over and over. Worse than Rampage, or Elite, or any other sports game. The only thing that comes close is some gambling games where you have to keep putting money on roulette over and over, and hope you win. But at least you know what you're getting into there. This was not fun. It "functions" as a sort of baseball game, but after 1 game, there is no reason to ever play again, because they are all the same. Sure lots of other baseball games are the same way, but 74 games (*wins) to beat the game is stupid and pointless. What were they thinking. And Bases Loaded 1&2 require more games, but somehow they weren't quite as mind-numbingly boring as this. Probably because you can cheese those ones and they are a lot easier.
  20. 70 games finished! Something happened today. I got a picture. Something different! I'm in the playoffs!! Does this mean gameplay will change in some way? Will something new happen?? No. It's exactly the same. Just keep playing and winning games. Nothing ever changes.
  21. 50 games won now. For some time, I thought I was in hell, like Sisyphus in an eternity of useless effort and unending frustration. But then I thought, maybe this is some version of heaven, where nothing bad ever happens - which means nothing interesting ever happens. An eternity of blandness. But I think it must be purgatory. Neither heaven nor hell, earth nor afterlife. One day, I will finish this game, and I don't know where I will be then, but at least it won't be doing this.
