Doesn’t eBay always side with the buyer? Open a claim and get that refund! I remember I sold a prototype for nes on eBay that wouldn’t go in a normal nes. Listed in the description the buyer would need a top loader with the top taken off to use(eprom stuck out to far) the buyer shoved in nes toaster and said it wouldn’t work... im positive they rented that prototype and dumped it. I had no chance hadda give all the money back

It’ll go up way higher they have like a live online auction block. I mean yeah I want that thing but it just shows how important the development of these games are! everyone loves sealed cardboard that was sold at retail. I love stuff that was ordered to trashed/ returned to the company!same note let’s chat about them but not drive the price up more:p

Dude Nintendoage had a great section of prototype stuff how is something that is niche but still very important. I have zero time interest in fluffing up this site so that people can realize what they are neglecting? i asked gloves when this first started about this and the thing is most prototype collectors don’t wanna be bothered about them so on average we are private. oh don’t forget all the hype around a prototype right now...

Actually nes and snes would have long boards also compared to the retail releases. Snes they would just chop up the top so it’d fit. Nes well most nes games are small in those big carts. also earlier is always the best stuff and top of the price range

You know the funny thing about that is dream set so many price ranges with his sales and with the amount of stuff he collected to be late to this hype and then clean up hahah.

https://www.obscuregamers.com is a great place for prototypes! I tried to get stuff started here but no one cares lol. They said no one posts about prototypes.... it’s just not as widely collected and honestly I don’t think many feel comfortable buying.

I agree with wata being driven by the thought of cashing out I mean check eBay out craziness every week now! I will say I’m not a sealed collector( have like ten sealed) I like grading to keep them in the current state. I recently set up a display with my sealed games and dropped my Pokémon red and I’m sure it took a few points off the grade. Not happy at all I personally don’t see the difference between wata and vga on grading prototypes both completely miss what makes them more unique then sealed retail releases

Wata is for selling to the new crowd, vga is for more strict grading. Crossover tend to show anything over vga 90 is gonna be probably be a 9.8 a++

I’d think if they had the same problems of vga it could lead to a downfall. So if someone sent a game in and it got grade vastly different then maybe.

Not a chance with all the heritage hype from the new buyers. The new crowd literally has no interest in vga besides crossing over. for me there prototype service is a complete joke they don’t do it right at all. They are more focused on the type of board and if the cart is there instead of the data which makes or breaks a prototype in value. Also the matrix is not up and I don’t think sending a rom to every current owner is a good idea either unless you have it graded then sell otherwise if you are buying wata dumped game there’s no assurance that it’s hasn’t been dumped and released
