  1. Am I the only one who doesn’t give a shit about Taiwan?
  2. I played like crazy for a while but have since put it down. It’s an awesome game but it doesn’t have the staying power of the original in my opinion.
  3. I’ve heard from a couple people that the prices for official store displays (standees, posters, point of purchase displays, kiosks, etc.) are skyrocketing. Is this true though? On the one hand it seems logical. A lot of collectibles are rising in price. But on the other hand some of these items sell so infrequently isn’t it hard to gauge price jumps? What has been your experience?
  4. In my opinion, it feels best without a condom.
  5. You know I love you, @Quest4Nes but I think it was wrong of Trump to make this wild and dangerous allegation on national television—twice—before having any evidence. It’s one thing to say that you suspect impropriety, it’s another to falsely claim that you won an election. It’s divisive at best, incendiary at worst.
  6. When this investigation eventually turns up no impropriety, Trump will then deny the validity of the investigation. There’s no reality where Trump concedes graciously. He’ll go to his grave claiming that this election was stolen—undermining the mechanics of our democracy. And why? Because he doesn’t want to give up power. I suppose it’s possible that he has sincere love for this country and genuinely believes he’d do a better job serving as president, so maybe in his mind the ends justify the means. Even still, what he’s doing is dangerous. And he set us all up for it. He knew—EVERYONE KNEW—that dems would vote predominantly via mail in ballots. And he knew that because of this, votes would take longer to count so the final results would take days, if not longer. So he urged his supporters to vote in person. Because he knew Biden would have to wait for his votes. He knew that if Biden was going to gain ground it wouldn’t be until after Tuesday night. And so his supporters had been sufficiently prepped to accept the “stolen election” narrative. On Tuesday night Trump’s re-election looked like a foregone conclusion. Then slowly (and predictably) Biden’s mail-in ballots overtook him. But Trump had already sown the seeds of doubts in his voter’s minds. It’s fucking genius really. And now tens of millions of citizens believe that democracy failed. And this is goddamn America. AMERICA. The beacon of representational governance. Disgraceful.
  7. Hold on, let me say something else about the matter. If I were to try to tabulate all the kind, generous, polite moments I’ve shared with Idaho Trump supporters I would have a 10 page wall of text. People are generally good—and that includes Trump voters.
  8. I voted for Joe Biden and I live in Idaho soooo....I’m outnumbered. Of course I hope my candidate wins but no matter what happens, no matter who wins, America is pretty fucking great. Only thing I hate about Trump’s presidency is that it has shone a harsh light on some of the uglier parts of our country. And I’m not talking about the liberal media slant. I mean in real life. I don’t know, it just felt like the bigots, sexists, racists, etc felt emboldened. I got called the n-word in a public street and nobody said a word in my defense. A black friend of mine was asked to leave a store because she opened a bottle of lotion to check the scent. I saw looks of actual disgust when I walked into a restaurant with my white wife and mixed children. My brother was slapped in the face by a white girl and called the n-word—again nobody but him seemed bothered by it. A guy covered Nazi tattoos took a picnic table from an entire Latino family at a lake I was visiting. I promise you this stuff didn’t happen before Trump. I’ve lived here my whole life. All that being said, I know that most of Trumps supporters are good, caring, patriotic Americans. Like I said I live in Idaho so most of the people I know voted for him. And they love this country as much as I do. But I can’t shake the feeling that his presidency brought out the worst in some people. Anyway, I’m a little inebriated so I’ll stop before I get all cheesy. Just remember, whoever wins, we’re all Americans...except Canadians or whatever.
  9. There’s no way it could end in a tie. The person who hits 270 wins.
  10. As much as I would love for this to be over it’s still too early to call.
  11. Wait. His middle name is Robinette?? I’m changing my vote.
  12. I’m really loving M2’s Sega offerings in the eshop. The 3D is super impressive on these titles—makes them feel fresh and nostalgic at once. Personal favorites are Out Run, Streets of Rage 1 & 2, and Shenobi 3. I think they’re all on sale right now. Check them out if you haven’t already.
  13. I was totally ready for cringe but damned if I wasn’t tapping my foot and cracking up by the end. Love it!
  14. I need a battery cover for my Hyrule edition New 3DS XL but I can’t find on on Nintendo’s site. Are they no longer available or am I an idiot?
  15. I get that. I do. And I agree that a lot of the time “political” issues are shoehorned into movies and TV for seemingly no reason. The cynical part of me believes that Netflix and other other large media groups are only paying lip service to “causes” that are trending at the moment because it’s good for their brand. But maybe these media groups are overcompensating because for 99% of our shared history these topics/groups/issues have been ignored. Maybe it’s nice for the marginalized and underrepresented to feel included in the conversation for the first time. Because maybe these little “political” segments weren’t added with you in mind at all. Maybe they were shoehorned into the narrative specifically for the people who feel like they’ve been excluded from these narratives for decades—centuries. I know it’s annoying sometimes, man. I sometimes roll my eyes at it too. Like that “girl power” seen in Endgame. You know the one I mean. But then, after the movie, my daughter said, “daddy, wasn’t it cool when all the girl heroes helped each other”. And then I realized that scene wasn’t put there for me.
  16. Right. It’s a thing now because because guitarzombie and I didn’t shrug it off good naturedly. But it wasn’t a thing when the dudes on page one were patting each other on the back in agreement. Sound logic.
  17. Oh you mean like how this fucking thread became political because a few dicks couldn’t help but comment on something being political.
  18. Thanks for the replies so far! I have a 401K through my employer. They match up to 5% and right now I’m contributing 8%. I’ll be honest I don’t think I’m in a good spot as for as that goes. I’m 35 and have about $48K saved so far. I was really stupid and didn’t start contributing anything until my late 20’s.
  19. Hey all, any of guys good with money? I could use some advice. I don’t make a ton of money but I live in Idaho so my cost of living is relatively low. After our bills are paid we have some extra money at the end of every month that we put in the bank. Right now I have ~$18K in our savings account. For a long time I’ve been content to just see that number get bigger and pat myself on the back. But recently I’ve been thinking that I should be doing something with it. I want to grow it—but I don’t know how. Is now a good time to invest in the stock market? Should I put it into some kind of mutual fund? Is there a high yield savings type account I should investigate? Bonds? I’m too stupid to be a day trader so I’d like to just set the money somewhere and play the long game. What do you guys do to grow your money?
  20. I’m known as that one guy with the thing who does stuff but also sometimes doesn’t do stuff
