Any opinions on why the price of Mountain Bike Rally/Speed Race has stayed stagnant while other SNES games have jumped?

People on eBay are trying to make it a $2K game (cart only) but the market seems to have it priced closer to $1K—which is where it’s been for years it seems.

Well it seems that that market has decided this game is now worth over $2K…

    What a world…

  2. Sucks that I gotta follow the Crazy Taxi original art guy but here’s what I got lol

I’d been looking for this banner for years. I found a couple during that time but the nice ones were too expensive, and the affordable ones were too ugly.

Finally found my Goldilocks. The reverse is just as nice as the front. That is to say, not perfect but display worthy. I feel I got a good deal on it.

  3. I appreciate all the insights, fellas.

I want to clarify a few things:

    • I didn’t pay NEARLY the current asking price these items. I’ve owned them for years and they just happened to become desirable/valuable
    • I don’t have some baller ass collection with tons of rare and expensive items. I’d wager I have a smaller collection than most of you
    • One of the main reasons I don’t sell is because if I sold these items I would literally never get a chance to own them again. Not just because of the price, but because of their rarity. Over the course of my collecting journey, one thing I’ve learned about myself is I have WAAAAAAYYY more regret for the times I’ve sold than the times I’ve purchased

  4. I swear this isn’t meant to be humble brag thread—just want some perspective.

I was at my local game store the other day and got into a bit of a pissing match with the owner and a couple customers.

We were all listing off the valuable gaming stuff we own or have owned in the past.

I mentioned that I own a single item that I was offered $9K for, and another item for which I was offered $7K. Store owner asked what I did with the money, I explained that I didn’t sell. They all looked at me like I was insane. Even kinda shamed me a little.

On the drive home I wondered if I was being selfish for keeping these things. My family isn’t rich, but the truth is we don’t need the money. We live comfortably. But really, who couldn’t use extra money? Especially right now.

My wife has NEVER asked me to sell anything I own and she knows about these offers. But still I can’t help but feel a little guilty now.

Anyone else ever feel this way about their collection?

Honestly though if we could get some Duo news that’s would be great. You’d think it’d be easier to make Duos since Pockets require 2x FPGA CPUs and Duo only needs one, presumably, since it doesn’t support open FPGA and will probably just rock the cyclone V like the other consoles that only play games Analogue supports for it

Right??? I preordered mine the day it was available and haven’t heard anything since. Where’s the updates??

  6. I see the scalpers are already plying their evil trade, and yet surprising these preorders are still available. I managed to get one ordered at Best Buy and my brother got one at Target.

Maybe demand isn’t super high for these? I’m sure lots of folks have multiple Switch consoles by now so maybe there’s a little buyer’s fatigue at play here. Or maybe Nintendo actually plans to meet demand?

For the record I only own one Switch, and it’s the first model so I’m ready for the OLED upgrade.

  7. We recently bought a used car for my daughter. 2004 Acura TSX with 115K miles. It’s in great shape and runs beautifully. We took it in an hour long test drive and had no issues. We got a good deal and drove it home.

When I first inspected it I noticed that the exhaust was cloudy and white, but It was 19 degrees outside and the car was not overheating so I figured it was probably just condensation.

But since purchasing the car the temp has gone up to 35 degrees outside and the exhaust looks the same. I took the car for another long drive, I turned the heater on full blast and I even turned the AC on full blast and the car did not overheat.

Obviously my big concern is a blown head gasket or warped head, but wouldn’t that cause over heating? Before I purchased it I scanned it with a BlueDriver and it didn’t trip any codes at all. I couldn’t even find evidence of deleted codes.

Is there something else that could be causing that white exhaust? Since the car is not overheating does that mean I’m in the clear?

It’ll be nice to get the remaining snes carts I need for a little bit cheaper but it’s not gonna cause me to spend anymore or less than I normally would.

edit: isn’t this the normal cycle of the year when game prices fall anyways?

In my experience the yearly price drop happens around summertime. I thought prices usually bounce back at this time of year.

  9. Update: I got the Turbo Express recapped and it works fine! Picture is bright and clean and sound is loud and clear! I tested all the games and they all work perfectly! And I must say the Turbo Express is in excellent shape considering its age!

I’m very happy with the results but I’m not sure I can keep it in the long run. I just think I’m more of a console gamer so I’ll probably sell the Express and pick up a Duo down the road.
