  1. They released some more copies yesterday around noon CDT. They were preorder cancellations. I was in line for a standard Switch version, but it sold out before I could check out . I ended up with the overpriced Anniversary edition. @Reed Rothchild I read online that PA only has a Switch version and @Estil was looking for PS4.
  2. I watched Insomnia for the first time the other night. I thought Pacino was good but it honestly felt like it should have been longer to flesh it out more. It seemed like Nolan was forced to make the movie a certain length and he usually needs that extra time to develop his worlds. I also watched Mad Max Road Warrior and Thunderdome. The series is just so entertaining despite only giving you small glimpses of life in the post-apocalyptic world.
  3. Did they change your PayPal password? If so, they could have looked through your email and requested a PayPal password change.
  4. Am I the only one disturbed by the picture of the dude on the screen?
  5. Seriously, we have a mental health problem in this country. It’s not just these people either. Look at the increased rates of suicide, especially amongst Gen Z. While not all would seek it or necessarily be helped by it, mental health treatment should be available to all regardless of individual resources.
  6. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_States Just looking at the past several years, they’re kind of all over the place, but many of these aren’t really headline mass shootings. Though we hear about them locally. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and we have strict gun laws but still have issues. I’m personally for stricter gun laws despite the fact that they may not reduce certain gun violence. I personally believe there should be some sort of annual mental fitness evaluation in order to maintain gun ownership. Life circumstances can change and have a significant impact on someone over time. A once stable person may no longer be fit to own a gun. I do not own a gun, and I don’t plan to, but I did get a FOID card, required for Illinois in case stuff hits the fan and I do need to prepare myself to protect my family. However, I never plan to use it.
  7. I work for a Fortune 500 company and there are plenty of people I would fire on the spot if I was in control and there were no unemployment consequences. Outside of people that don’t want to work for low wages, there are so many people that are basically stealing from their employers because they either aren’t doing their jobs or they do such a terrible job at them. I’ve seen this from upper management level to staff level. I’d argue that the biggest problem isn’t just employers or employees, there are plenty that suck on both sides. I’d argue it’s sacrificing economic competition and opportunities by allowing big business to leverage economies of scale and causing the demise of smaller businesses while bloating head counts due to inefficiencies and keeping salaries and wages low. Small businesses’ share of GDP has been on the decline for decades and it’s no surprise to me that we see worse customer service now than before too.
  8. Just got another recall notice on the car we donated in 2020. Maybe my third call to the American Honda line on the notice will actually stop these letters. This is incompetence!
  9. I watched Network for the first time. Overall, I thought it was a very good movie. I think it hits things right on the nose for the most part. It would have been great had I not thought the character of Max was uneven and had moments where I was thinking this just seems illogical for this character.
  10. 10/10 Seen them live a few times and I rarely go to concerts. I still go back to listen their first two albums a lot.
  11. 5/10 Like Goonies, it’s an overrated, highly praised 80s flick. I watched both of these as an adult and thought they were mediocre. Maybe I should have watched them as a kid in the early 90s as I was only born in 84.
  12. I think it’s a great example of what he could bring to a role, even a small one. He was the best part of that movie. Dude sounded like a straight up devout Catholic. He played it perfectly.
  13. I still get recall notices from Honda for a vehicle I donated. I called them on two different occasions to say we no longer own the vehicle after my mother-in-law halfway across the country was getting them because they started reaching out to my wife. I still get the notices. They’re incompetent.
